Yes it is True Den. But then again it is a 4.5 spd bow. Basically that combined with Mariashas glove arrows and 10% range is quite good fun in keeps.

I always have the Dragon Bow in backpack for this

To find the range to a target... errrr use /range on an object (e.g. grave).
You can fire your bow at objects... so just notch an arrow to see if it's in range....I'm sure you get the rest :)

Just to confirm for everyone else as I know Den knows this now. The extended range is 2100 and this goes also for the TG bow I believe.

The normal hunter range is 2000.

Ummmm so 2100 + 10% TOA range + Brag arrows = 2360 range :)

Anyone have stats or pictures for Dragon / TG bow?
Do they come with TOA bonus's?
Is it possible to get 10% ToA range using Dragon / TG bow?

Gimmie gimmie gimmie :)

Think max +range will be 9% then if using GSV, Sharkskin - and GOLM :)
+dmg will be lower as well :)

Not marisha arrows, brag arrows does, never bothered to test the actual length though :)

max ToA range is 10% but braggarts arrows have a slight additional range bonus.

the slower the bow, the more range you get

edit from last post:

http://rothwellhome.org/guides/archery.htm <- This was written up by the scout TL. He stated that hunters have 2000 range, rangers have 2100 range and scouts have 2200 range.

Looking at the spd difference for the various realms, I would safely say that spd does have an influence over range.

Hunters: lvl 51 bow: 5.0 spd
Rangers: lvl 51 bow: 5.5 spd
Scouts: lvl 51 bow: again 5.5 spd

So, imo, spd does influence range & ofc dmg.

This was taken off from MMOPRG.com: - > If you like archers, here is how they break down.

Scout: Best archer. They have the best range and hit hard. They have a shield which is good for blocking shots from other archers, melee attacks, and for stunning. They only have one handed melee, and no self spells or buffs. They make great snipers, but that is about it. Of the archers, they have the best archery (barely) and the worst melee (by quite a bit)

Hunter: They have the shortest range, and faster bows (less damage per shot). They can spec in two handed weapons (sword or spear), have pretty good melee, some self buffs, and can either summon or charm a pet (charming is mostly useless). Of the three archers, they have the worst archery, and the second best melee (depending on how you spec).

Ranger: They have the best melee (depending on spec), and the second best archery. They have a slightly shorter range than scouts, but their bows are comperable so they hit about as hard. They have self buffs which include a damage add. They can dual wield weapons which makes them pretty solid in hand to hand combat. Many even take them all out in melee and just use the bow for pulling or bothering the enemy. They can also be specced as a sniper, and be nearly as good as the scout. Of the archers, they can be a close second in archery, and the best in melee.

All three have stealth and the same basic bow skills. Scouts have bow, stealth, weapon, and shield. Hunters have bow, stealth, weapon, and magic. Rangers have bow, stealth, weapon, magic, and celtic dual. With the same points, it makes rangers slightly harder to spec out, but they are still the overall best archer class.
<-

Hunters have been widely known for the shortest range, again imo, due to the quickest bows.

And if you actually read that page some day, you'll find this:

Primary archer bows fall into three categories:
- light bows that no one gets range bonuses for which have about 4.0 second draw times,
- medium bows that only rangers get range bonuses for which have about 4.7 second draw times, and
- heavy bows that only scouts get range bonuses for which have about 5.4 second draw times.

Base bow range is 1360 units with clout arrows, 1600 units with normal arrows, and 2000 units with flight arrows. Rangers using medium bows have a range of 1428 units with clout arrows, 1680 units with normal arrows, and 2100 units with flight arrows. Scouts using heavy bows have a range of 1496 units with clout arrows, 1760 units with normal arrows, and 2200 units with flight arrows.

:p

Ok, I stand corrected rather pwned but (and here's me admitting Im not wrong nor right) I still believe that spd does influence range but then as a scout, I'd rather not use 4.0~4.9 spd bows

The range of every single bow is in reality set for each bow, Mythic just made a standard with who gets a range bonus with what type of bow. For example, the Heart of the North(the alb dragon bow) used to have heavy longbow range even though it was 5.0 speed, while some 5.0 speed bows didn't have the same range at that time. The bow that drops in DF also had a low speed, can't remember exactly, but it also has heavy longbow range.

Some grab bag ages ago said that they set the range for each bow upon creation of that bow and the devs perhaps wanted to create some differance with all the bows, which might explain why some of the old bows have different ranges independant of their speeds. The list written by Oaklief should still be valid as to how most bows work though..

On another not.. Sanya gave an answer to a guy who asked why he couldn't see the range of his bow in a grab bag not that long ago that they were looking into putting range in bow delves, that might have been put in by now, but you probably know if it has. Probably not since the base bow range is pretty low and the overall range is boosted by so many different things.
