dr who the end???

if theres one thing the new dr who show is good at its carefully scripted episodes so do you think the end is nigh? it was a very suggestive line and martha back next ep

Well the final episode of this series is entitled 'Journey's End' and there will be no series next year, just 3 specials. It won't be until 2010 that another full series is aired.

they need to make some heavy changes to the story, keep off earth base storys on other civilizations make perhaps darker. sprinkle it with some nift sfx
they make a mint selling it to the other net werk but this years side kick makes it unwatchable

I gave in and watched. Tate isn't as bad as I thought she would be. That doesn't mean she's good, but I thought she'd be like being repeatedly kicked in the teeth with poo smeared football boots, when in reality she's like that bite inside your mouth that you sometimes forget about and then you're chewing and you bite down, and it bleeds again, and whatever you are eating tastes of blood and agony.

There are fixes though...

Stop making her shout. She's really annoying when she shouts, especially as it sounds just like one of her retarded characters.

Stop giving her "amusing" one liners, like "Do I look single?" because it just reminds us over and over that you casted her because of her diabolical sketch show.

Stop thinking that you can have her act like the loud brash comedian an entire episode, and then have her cry for two seconds, and think that balances it all out.

I think if they toned it down a bit, she'd be passable. Ideally, she's go to some planet and get into a death match with Ja Ja Binks, and they'd both deal death blows at exactly the same moment and mutually murder each other, but in the absence of that just stop having her shout, and make her pronounce every letter in the word "Doctor" if she's going to keep calling it over and over.

Anyway, regarding "the end"... in these things they always need to have a threat of an end, in order to create some sense of impending drama and to create an arch, and so I wouldn't read too much into it. [NERD]The doctor is meant to be able to regenerate 12 times before his final death, and Tenant is number 10.[/NERD]

I've actually enjoyed the episodes in this series so far more than the last. In past the episodes have been a bit hit a miss, not all have been great.

Just hope it continues.

As for Tate, she is doing my head in, but i wouldn't miss it though. In a cheesy world of X Factor and Lloyd Webber flogging his shit on prime time, it's still one of the best shows that is produced on UK TV, and Russell T Davies is a genius

I think that they mention it as a curiousity, a nod to the times, rather than an ongoing plot. It's a serious problem, and I don't think they'd be so flippant as to just make up a solution in doctor who when the problem continues in reality.
