Downloading problem

I'm having trouble downloading files. It happens with any file type of over 100meg size. Say I download a 1gig file ,it appears to download ok (not using a download manager) but when I check its size on the harddrive I find its only about 300meg.

Its very strange and happens with all file types and sources. Anyone have a clue whats going on?

Presume you are downloading via your browser. What browser are you using?
Does it work when using a download manager?

Just using Explorer 6. Sometimes works with Getright and sometimes not, weird.

What happens if you copy a file larger than 300mb from one folder to another? Does it always copy, or only sometimes?

Have a look at your pagefile settings, make sure its not broken.

Fresh install of XP has sorted it. Thanks
