I don't use a download manager personally (mmm, broadband...) but I'd heard that GetRight is still rather good, and I've had some good experiences with Download Accelerator.
Have used getright for a long time now and never had problems with it. Used to need it due to 56k modem but now I just use it for limiting download speed sometimes as I share an adsl connection on a network indoors and if I download too fast I get moaned at for abusing all the bandwidth and lagging their games
I have Getright installed but to be honest, unless I have something truely massive to download that I know I'll need resume for, I just let the standard Firebird download whatsit do the job.
GR integrates with IE, and also monitors the clipboard (so in Firebird/Opera you can "Copy link" on the download and Getright will spot it, making up for the lack on a decent Mozilla integration plug in).
