I know I'm normally the one answering the questions, but I thought I'd put one your way for a change
System is a fairly straight forward setup - Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 motherboard and C2D 6400 Processor, 3gb ram etc. Runs like a peach.
Something I've not encountered before (at least in this manner) has started to happen. To be quite honest, it might always have happened. It POSTs twice.
Computer turns on (or restarts after a reset/restart from windows etc) - VGA bios up first, then normal POST, then immediately after the quick memory test completes, the PC resets - VGA bios again, POST again, memory test again, but this time continues on.
This could be something as simple as a feature of the board or a setting in the BIOS, but I'm buggered if I can find what. Updated the bios (was due!), reset to defaults, tried the more obvious settings to see if it made a difference, none.
RAM is fine - ran it through an 8 hour loop of Memtest86 last night with no issues or warnings. And yeah, power supply is fine too. Not that I'd expect that to be the problem.
I've used Gigabytes email support thing but I'm not expecting a reply in the near future, so thought I'd see if anyone had experienced this previously. I'm not THAT worried as after that second POST it all works hunkey dorey - it's just a niggling doubt in the back of my mind.
Cheers
