Thats a fact.

So don't feel bad if you don't have many RP's just shows you don't dedicate a large part of your life to the game like some people choose to do, and more power to them if thats what they want

Add to the fact that some classes get loads of rps more then others. Its always harder for a tank then a stealth class for instance so don't be sad. You will get that rank 5 in time. Very long time though.

I think someone with alot rp's know a bit better how to kill enemies, who he can kill, what he has to do to not been killed etc etc

so yes i call it skill

Nice community here I see, no I have enough to get me on my way to RR 4 but that wasn't what I was trying to achieve here, what I was trying to achieve was to make the people who don't have many RP's a feeling of worth and not a feeling that they are not good at the game or aren't achieving alot.

But then again I don't expect some people to understand when someone is actually trying to be nice on here after reading most of the threads on here that seem to degrade into a flame war.

And as for skill it only really takes a little while to learn what u can kill and what u can't kill Aussie

I mean how hard is it, Crit shot shoot shoot, and if they get near Slam, slam whack whack

Omg the skillz it must take months to learn it

i exped to 50 in midgard and earned rps there, then traded my account for this, so the bubble hardly exist.

I can now see what Light meant when telling me about these forums LOL

Oh and ya stats are out of date I have 95k now, and if I played every night with a normal 10-20k a night it would only take a week to get upto a higher lvl

But then again I play the game for fun, guess that got lost somewhere

I can only talk from a Middie perspective (and correct me if I am wrong with respect to Albion and Hibernia), but there are those stealthers (Zilly and Darkheart are classic examples) who will ALWAYS group to provide excellent intel by recon or hang around to uncover enemies for the benefit of everyone else when the opportunity arises, even though they would earn 5 times the RP solo. By the same token, there are countless other stealthers who provide little benefit to the the realm as they stay solo, keep quiet, and take advantage of any battles for their own rp benefit fund. Depends where your priorities lie, I suppose.

Solo speciallists (predominantly stealther classes) will always earn more RP than FG peeps (melee/healer classes). That's a fact of life, by virtue of their ability to gain 500 - 1k rp a pop. Doesnt mean they are any better. And since they invariably go for the 1-hit on a blue/green con or cross-dresser in a group (as we have all witnessed countless times) does this make them "better" RvR peeps? Maybe not. RP earned does not equal respect. Its how it is earned that does.

Lonewolf was spot on in his assessment, although I have one question for him: Where is Emain? :)

Hmm maybe, but some peeps play more than others too, like RvR more than others etc, etc.

I love RvR, but cant RvR 24/7 because of work, etc, etc and i think im not the only one having that prob :)

ur skill is determined on what u do ingame and how u play (ie. knowing ur char to the fullest and knowing what fights to enter if the outcome seems to be victory for u)
knowing how to do the teams, which classes to mezz/kill first, which styles to use, which spells to use, etc.

the rp is just the whip cream that u can run around bragging with.
as said it doesnt determine ur skill, but it is, somehow, still bound a bit too it... for instance, a zerker or similar class (no speed add, no good range) going solo is pretty much just a waste of time in most cases, and that wont get u any where. Instead team up with a class that can turn u in to a good char (a classic example is skald + zerk, fast in, fast kill, fast out)

or add a bit more and put in a CC char (ie. healer) and take on crowds twice as large as you.. the larger your enemy forces are, the harder they are to kill. However, the better you are and the better teamplay u got, the more u can kill.

actually, the key word is teamwork. thats what mythic is trying to make this game to also.

A classic example is the uber solo chars, snipers/infils/minstrels, they are by far the best chars to solo with because of the stealth..

So they added see hidden to force these players to start thinking more of the way they play, and start teaming up in small groups...

The one thing that we cant really help is the zerging.. if 60 or more ppl stick together and move around together, it usually tends to be pure ganking and that gets boring rather fast.

the tactically aspects are more important than most think.

Jesus you Midgard peeps are well nice, thanks alot guys a really nice informative post by both of ya and you know what I totally agree with everything you said

Seeing as I have only had the light account a week now still trying to learn the ropes, takes a little while but I am getting use to it

Can't complain seeing at I only got the character at 65k and made 30k in a weeks session

But thanks alot anyhow guys, really appreciate it raised my spirits a bit more

already think your a nob for stealing lights account, but now......what do u base skill in rvr on then? of course a stealther is gona have more RP than a tank but the point is you do it by classes...ie Tanks, Stealthers, Casters etc, if u only made 60k in the time u had it thats rather poor Creep made sumthing like that in a day

Sorry mate, I was just having a little bit of fun in light of what someone said about your RPs...no malice intended...if any offence taken accept my apologies. It was a bit of harmless fun.

You are correct about your observations about RP. It can only be indicative at best. I agree it's certainly not the best metric for assessing someone's ability. I think the best metric is the number of enemies who salute and bow to you after battle, the number of enemies who will try to eliminate you first and also the people on these forums who congratulate you.

Having the respect/fear from enemies is my metric.
