i've never dreamt about games but they have carried over to when i;ve not been playing them..
one day all me and me m8 did was play UFO:enemy unknown (christ what a fuckin great game that was) and for those of you who havent played it, each of your units has a set about of moves (time units) to move , fire etc. well we'd been playing it nearly 11 hours non stop (bog breaks, of course) and then went str8 to bed. as i was lying in bed i was watchin the telly and john major came on and he was in some shitty town doin his shitey prime minister thing (yeah, this was a while ago) and i stared thinkin to meself what weapon he was gonna use and if he had enough time units to do it.. this scared me a bit.
it happens now and again when i play games too much.. i start thinkin about em when i'm not playin em. lets just hope i dont have carmageddon flashbacks on me drivin lessons :/

Imagine if we all dreamed of resident evil or alone in the dark, we'd never sleep again. Hands up all those who were scared when they played alone?

Years ago Mookie, in the hayday of my Quake2ing I used to 'see' things in normal everyday life. i remember after a particularly brutal 5 hour session of Q2, I switched off and went to get some dinner made. As I came out of the hallway and into the lounge I thought I spotted some shotgun ammo near/under the TV and instantly tried to work out how many strafe jumps it would take to get there, with intention of actually jumping accross the lounge.

Of course, this all happened in my mind in a matter of nanoseconds, but I stopped playing q2 for a few weeks after that :p

When my brother was playing Resi Evil 1 on the *cough* Playstation, and when those rabid dogs dive through the window, he was so scared threw the pad in the air and it hit the ceiling.

Still laugh about it today :D

Res 2 scared me shitless in parts. However, it was only a "jump in your seat scared", and slightly nervous about going into rooms and stuff, I'm still after game that truly makes me worry and a wreck debating on whether or not to go into a room with only one door....

The one that scared me the most was the Alien TC for Doom. Now THAT was scary. Very cleverly done. Aliens came out of nowhere!

Of course on further in vestigation, I discovered it to be some very weel disguised holes in the wall covered by wall that you could walk through. So ner.

Scared me anyway.

But getting back on topic....
I've never really taken games into my life away from the computer. I know a couple of mates who've said "Wouldn't that be a great sniper spot?" etc. But then I don't think they ever played computer games....

:(

What about Undying? Just playing the demo makes me go all tingly. And not in a good way.

You tell that to Clive Barker(TM). I dare ya.

Incidentally, Duck-Tape_(uk) is there a Duck-Tape_(usa) or Duck-Tape_(fr)? Are you starting a Duck-Tape franchise?

How do I get my free information pack?

Anway, isn't it 'duct tape'? What the hell is 'duck' tape anyway? Or do I not want to know?

We duck taped a friend of mine to some scenery in one of those lazer arenas things in the dark once, then left her there for a bit. She was pissed off when we came back an hour later.

lol bet that hurt ripping it of.. its really sticky shit.. leaves all the adhesive gank behind when you remove it.. my guess is that if they foung any big gaping tears in the universe needed fixing, they fix it up with duck tape and cable ties.

yup. She really didn't like me after that. I asked her out as well, can you guess what she said?
I guess it was the pinching and pulling the hair of the girl you liked thing you did when you was a kid. So why did I do it when I was 19:confused:

I bet she was all, like sticky and everything after all that. I bet she got all hot and a bit sweaty. Yeah...

She was probably all fired up ready for a fight, after being, y'know... tied up and helpless like that. Hm...

undying was shit and boring, but the first 20 minutes of it were fucking scary. Seeing the ghost in the mirror for example.

As for what you all were talking about earlier... something similar: after watching memento (great film, go see it) i found myself thinking that i had to write things down before i forgot them all again..

nath

p.s. for those that dont know, memento is about a guy who had a head injury and has no short term memory. Forgets every 10 odd minutes.

I watched memento a few weeks ago, fantastic film, I love the way the film alternates between one stage of the film going backwards and another going forwards until they both meet each other in the middle. A masterpiece of film work and a good story to boot.
