Experience and physical state is more important than "age" as an attribute, I'd say. A fit 60 year old could "outskill" a normal 17 year old (although I don't like to think about it - getting pictures in my head )

As long as you know what to do with it, age doesnt matter. You could be 19 and be more experienced than a 34 y/o. However, a 34 would've had much more time to pratice.
