yay, tdc gets an email!! lo and behold, it's from myself.....or rather someone pretending to be me.

I once saw a documentary about pirates. one city in the carib had dungeons where they stowed the worst criminals they managed to catch. this dungeon was dug precisely, so that at high tide it would fill to within an inch of the ceiling with rancid seawater. I'd like to place the people who have had the gall to impersonate ME, inviting ME to run some dodgy exe to "clean" MY mailbox of ficticious virii in said container....but rest assured, I'd pee the remaining inch or so full and we'd all be rid of them.

Whats really scary is that I just had a rather interesting dream. Basically, I got pissed off at someone on the FH board, and created a fake account from which to take the mickey. I made a post, and then thought better of it, so deleted it. But my new account somehow had admin powers, and I ended up deleting the entire thread. Then Xavier found out and scanned my computer from messenger or something, and banned me from the internet!!!!

Then I woke up!

I had an email like that a couple of weeks ago TeeDee - not from my own domain, mind. I think it was from Barrysworld.com, thinking about it. I did have a virus or two arrive to me from my disused barrymail@... address, that was unnerving - I got a load of postmaster failures to the same address too, God I hate spam lists. Then again, at least it motivates me to lock down the new website against such address hunting behavior.
