I wish it was corporate shrill.

We did this educational documentary on our own and are trying to let people know about it. Its for anyone interested in the video game business.

Who wants to pay for it..... so go release it on DVD so somebody can rip it and put it on bittorrent.

BTW e-mail is _so_ against the CoC and I'm not as nice as TdC

What the f*ck are "serious games"? :eek7:

Are you trying to say mobile/console games are somewhat less then PC games or are you talking about violent games?

Those categories just are, well, crap. Mostly.

Serious games are games that have positive implementation. Re-mission is a game for kids with cancer that teach them why taking meds is important. Foodforce is a game from the UN to teach about world hunger. Serious games are games that teach people about certain issues. Like simulation training. We have a lot of PC games in the doc too, I should add it to the list. If you google serious games you will find lots of info about them.

How are the companies involved? What big and small companies? What's the content more presicely?

Too many questions to throw away that kind of money for 2h of possible cack.

EDIT: Well i watched the "trailer" and allready looked like just that, 2h of documentary that really isn't that good.

Sony, SCEA, Autodesk, Softimage, Ubisoft, Gameloft, Gamelab, DICE Canada(RIP), Battlegoat, IGDA, University of Western Ontario, Seneca college as well as the other two console makers, and some big entertainment conglomerates, and companies who asked not to be used on any packaging etc. Some participated by providing gameplay footage, others gave interviews or provided behind the seens footage (mocap etc)

Chet: As your PMs are full I thought I'd respond here. By the way I'm not of the opinion that you're owed an explanation anyway however since you asked:

Reason Given : Meg, how was tilda overturning your decision any different to you overtunring tdc's? Can you guys get some consistency here. Oh and mods disagreeing with each other on the boards -great!!
The poster broke the CoC which is why I overturned TdC's second decision (you'll note that his first was correct, i.e. to remove the link).

As the CoC is something which TdC (& Tilda for that matter) should be enforcing (since from memory its construction was done in part as an effort to protect Ben & Tony), I don't particularly view this as going against another mod, but correctly interpreting the CoC, i.e. applying the following sections.
CoC said:
Remember, salesmen and women, marketing people and anyone with a message to preach are not welcome here. Most other people are, but we can't guarantee it.
CoC said:
Don't post your or anyone else's email address in the forums. If you want to share your email address make it available in your profile via the User CP by allowing download of your Vcard or ask people to send you a private message. If you DO share it, we will hurt you and the retards will probably arrange for shedloads of spam to arrive in your inbox for years to come.
I've re-opened this thread (for now) in case you wish to comment further.

I thought the Coc was a guideline and not to be enforced in a Nazi like manner? The fact that no one was buying his product and just insulting it was far better than removing his link.

well Septic Peg is slightly (only slightly) less lenient than myself. I felt remorse for my kneejerk corporate whore reaction, I felt myself, and I felt several liters of beer, so I allowed that guy to post his link. I don't feel bad in the slightest that I got overruled, and I shan't be posting G the box of dog poo I carefully collected on monday.

Oh look... Nazi comments... who bet on "between midnight and one am"? come and claim you prize.

Btw, the second sentence: a) it isn't a fact as you don't know, and b) in your opinion.

Yes an opinion which I am entitled to, and you are overzelous in your modding meg. The other mods are not, you are.

Again, in your opinion (that nobody said you were not entitled to). Anyway, you are also entitled to repeat yourself all you like, it doesn't make what you're saying correct.

In fact if I go along with what you are saying, does that make TdC 'overzealous' too? Teedles himself draws the comparison that (in terms of moderation) we're very similar.

In fact, reading through, it only seems to be yourself that's bothered by this thread?

TdC doesn't care and Tilda (who in retrospect I probably blasted too harshly - but I still feel deserved it) doesn't seem bothered either?

C for vendetta!!!1

seriously though, I do think that G and I are alike. However I must point out that he is stricter than myself (or maybe I care less, or whatever), meaning that while I thought *ban* and did nothing, he will think *ban* and act on it.

Having said that, Robbeh, I'd not mind to see you sometimes also not care, if only for your blood pressure mate ;)

Far be it from me to rock any boats but i reckon there are too many mods and not enough forums to go round these days.

Maybe you should meld all the mods into one living being and save alot of confussion?

I'm good with the blood and the pressure, tbh none of it bothers me. I think I've just kinda slightly reverted back to the "if I think you're a ****, you're being told you're a ****" posting style I used when I first started out on BW.

Btw, I don't think "Mr Ban" here played the new board game "warning level adjustments". I think it was "Mr Fluffy (but somewhat deformed and scary) Cat" over there that did roll the dice of fate :p
