This isn't a joke thread fyi;

Basically ze gf has an eye infection thats been going on a month or so now. She's been to her GP countless times and gone through countless eye drops. Yesturday was the most recent visit and has been given more eye drops but also was asked if she had sore joints - her answer was no but last night after some time thinking she said they are actually quite sore. Now I said go get another apointment and see him again as it might be quite urgent but was wondering if anyone on here would know why the docter asked this question?

She has Linermorpher if you know of that but that can't be in relation to the eye infection?

Any help would be much appricieated and rep etc given out.

Maybe shes got an STD, when I used to work at Dixons a few of the staff all come down with eye infections it came out that they had all been banging each other.

How long can these take to come out? IE Clamidiya? Apprently they can be dorment or something of the sort?

if shes had to think about having pain, she may well just THINK she does have it. dont bring it up again, maybe wait a week and see if she moans about painful joints. if not, she obviously never had them and so there is nothing to worry about.

if you have pain present, surely youd know at the moment?

im an internet doctor so i know this shit. try chucking a bit of bleach at the eye to sort it out too.

If it's an STD, i think you have more things to worry about then the GFs health.

Mainly, the GFs health concerning you.

If its an eye thing and your Doc hasnt a clue why not try a good optician? There realy good with eye diseases.

Your doctor is the only person that can reasonably answer your questions. If you think the doctor is crap it is quite easy to ask for somebody different. Doctors understand that patients will often not described their symptoms well and should ask many different questions. Don't be too worried if you have not described something correctly, just make sure the next time you see the doctor you do say.

If you are worried about the problem persisting have you asked the doctor how long it would normally take to fix? Not everything can be fixed inside 2 weeks. Does your girlfriend know how to use the eye drops correctly?

If your gf has had unprotected sex with multiple partners in the last year (maybe before she started going out with you) then yes she might well consider having a test done. An eye infection is not a normal reason to start being tested though....

This is not true. If your body is hurt in two different places you often only feel the worse pain. For example if you break a bone and get sunburnt. Also your body will subconsciously adapt to small discomfort. If your joints are sore you may simply not feel like going out for a jog that day. It can often be not until you have to rely on something that you realise that something is wrong.
