Tired of winning, owning and howling in victory all day long?

Perhaps the challenge is gone and you start to feel numb...

Then its time for a change.

Why not play shadowblade? or even better; a unbuffed critblade in epic.

I can PROMISE you that it will be a challenge.

But the shadowblade aint for everyone, you need to be a bit... special;

1. You need to like buffs, because you will spend a significant time buffing yourself.

2. You must also like the sea, we shadowblades sits in the dc-boat very, very often.

3. And even more important; you must like to get spanked, ganked and dominated by low-rr-infils

that miss pa and spam garrote.

Remember, as shadowblade its more important that all alb-stealthers have a steady flow of easy rps

than you having fun.

Me, having a blast last night;

Kinda the same for anyone not infil/scout/minstrel. Infils hit u for 400+ dmg when u run around with af charges, heat buffs and use em2, just patethic :p

Some day ago a rr9 minstrel did 439 1h dmg on my ass, he using malice and me using af charges and 26% slash + slash resistant armor <3

tbh though

when albs got instant RVR in emain from crim. You barely see any mids about. and I mean fooking hardly any. considering theres like 40 hibs in emain and 100+ albs.

when its stale mate and no-one has doorstep rvr then mids number swell up and bleed bridge it like full of your >rr5 hunters and SB's.

same for when mids have instant RVR in the other 3 lands.

Conclusions mids dont like travelling and because of that generally refuse to travel.

Its the same but to a much lesser extent for hibs who are prepared to travel and spend most of there life fighting in enemy territory.

The few mids that will travel and have a go get the lovely experience of fighting in between the alb zerg and the hib zerg generally contained at crua bridge.

salute to the middies that try and rvr in this because it must be fooking hell on earth. but thats the scenario we hibs fight in normally so theres a bit of welcome to my world in there too.

in conclusion though :- yer its pants. roll on agramon (sp?)

Problem with stealthers is that there are not a single one that deserves just a bit respect. Havent seen any of the regular stealthers that doesnt add, doesnt uncover you infront of zergs/fgs/whatever. Even fucking seen mos5 hunters with warlocks on /stick.. personally ill be playing my bainshee more and uncover these shitfucks infront of everything and doing alot of stupid emotes..

thnx

Hehe jox.

Yup last night was hard work. A few times I had AE Mezz equipped and ready to use, but I was killed before I even swung it! :>

I kept going to DC drop off and it was certainly a challenge, with a few 1on1's (thanks Soledad), and the occasional 1v5 or 1v6. I tried running up the coastline from the middy port and got steamrolled a few times by FGs.

Just one of those nights really. In the end I duo'd with MrFloppy for about an hour, but we kept losing eachother and going in our separate directions, trying to meet up, but by the time he got to me, or I got to him, one of us was dead :>

i find generally stealthers have a lot more respect.

theres a multitude of enemy stealthers that dont attack me when fighting someone even if its there realm buddy getting pasted. Theres loads that try not to pop u in front of zergs and theres loads that stop attacking you if they grouped with someone else etc...

Then you in turn must give the respect back to these guys... from that you get a very small circle of respect in the stealther community on excalibur and the circle varies slightey from person to person based on their actions and encounters with other enemies. you can have this circle of respect and still be highly competative with your opponents but you just try not to shaft them at every opportunity.

You also have to contribute initally from earning respect from your opponents and that takes time because the natural reaction is to kilkillkill!!!!

saying that its virtually impossible to play like a complete saint at all times. If you try to you will end up being on the receiving end of the shaft more than you are giving the shaft. And giving the shaft has to be the lesser of 2 evuls.
Try not to be a dirty shafter and you will probably not get as many dirty shafts dont to you. You will still get shafted periodically though specially when zerggy.

I could real off a list of possible 20-30 stealthers I know play with this respect and are in my circle.
-----------------------------

moving on...

I honestly hand on heart cannot say the same about visuals... And amoung my small circle of respect of players I will not shaft there are VERY few visuals... in fact prolly like kagato, theoden, faril are the only ones I can think of.. theres a couple of others prolly though...

The rest I take the position they are cold hearted newbs that cant cut playing a stealther so run around random bombing or dick swinging.

That outlook keeps me sharp on the edge, where i need to be.... (regardless of the accuracy of the statement)

;)

and ur 100% sure of this?

pain like to go out in rvr together.. most of us r irl friends.. (im one of the few norwegians tho ;p) and they think its fun to go out as a grp, the same way u like to rvr with in-game or irl friends.. We don't zerg 24/7, players like narzu, endac, nefastus and grimster etc actually solo aswell, tho ppl dont tend to post on FH every time they have a solo fight.. just when they r outnumbered (added on,zerged etc)

twinky: What you say is 100% fine. Im the same. Just dont make whine posts about adds or getting SZ'd :)

(oh and narzu is cool best hunter about by miles (with hellghost)
endac, nefastus and grimster are pretty poor tbh. light years behind the good SB's like maji d3 oli para)

Ahum Censi...What was the fun in owning me with your mate....euhm what was it...10+ times last night? I'm sure you realised i was solo since you both kept running after me a long time...or insta killed me everytime. I've been away 6 months...and was my first night i tried to RvR a bit on this out of date comp, with the reflexes of an old man by now. I even slapped emoted you a whole fight...but...lets see...you killed killed killed?

Maybe i should die a couple more times before earning "respect"...but even before my break you wouldn't have catched me in a group over 2 people (altho i was on mincer back then). You can say what you want...but you also want easy rp's if you can get em (from soloers).

I got nothing against teaming up...but when you kill someone 5 times and there is no insta pop from "friends" to counter your attack, you should realise the guy is solo...and maybe let him pass for once.

I'm no saint either...but if i see a fair 1 vs 1...i'll try to keep my hands of the shoot button and wait till it's over. Prob is of course you hardly see em atm (well in old frontiers you had some good spots for it...dunno in nf were i could find that tho).

Nothing against you...i'll hugspam you next time i get attacked by you 2...hope you will see it before i lay down on the ground :p

I agree with you all the way... like I say none of us are saints.

when Im tagging with thes we killed lots of solo stealthers. But there isnt a stealther in the game that has not killed a solo stealther when tagged with a mate.

The point is you cant expect or demand the sort of quarter people "feel" they are entitled to in this game... And the majority of the people that "feel" they deserve this quarter are the ones that give it the least when the boot is on their foot.

The biggest reality to the RVR side of daoc is you spend a large proportion of your RVR time biting the dust to multiple opponents that you have no chance of winning.

This will never change. I will always hated this element of the game, but I learnt to accept it 3 years ago.

I think all realms zerg tbh, and most of the zergs are started because some1 duo, then the enemy have the duo, then 1 part gotta trio to kill them or a good friend wanna join, and then it add up, and ones the zerg is started there's no way back :p

but zerg all u wan't I think everyone know who's normally zerging anyway and where not to go to get zerged, but FFS PLEASE stop uncovering enemy's infront of FGs(of FG's stop adding pls, it's not like stealthers try to outnumber u 1 fg against 9fg ;) )

Random thoughts here,

But really, I used to say that all the 'good' old people I respect had left and all that was left is the lesser people with fewer morals, but that was probably just me being typically cynical, faces have changed, populations have dropped but theres still probably the same percentage of morally orientated people around and some have still been here since the begining (and some still on the same un-ebayed accounts lol).

But to cut a long story short, theres still some people around both stealthed and unstealthed who do generally try and do the right thing and fight to their own moral views, which may vary or have slightly different tolerances but generally fit into the majority of ideals held by those that like fair(ish) fights. But you can't be perfect all the time, some of us have been here 3 and a half years or more now, and despite often having the highest morals we have all zerged, added, finished off, flamed, yelled and grey ganked deliberatly, accidently or simply from being to f8 trigger happy, shit happens but its how you try and play in the long-run that counts and what your play style is on a day to day bases, thats where the respect comes in, trying to do the right thing when feasibly possible to do so.
