Inverted means you are backwards and therefore should be shagging sheep and your sister/brother...

Inverted mouse so right, to be so wrong.

Just like with masturbation, as you go longer and get more aroused, you "grow" and your hand is forced further back in a similar fashion as with a joystick. You go up, you pull back. Yes? No?

I started with a ZX Spectrum. I think inverted mice are pretty uberqueer, like putting ketchup on a bacon sarnie. It can be done, but why would you want to? Have heard a lot of interesting excuses tho, surely it's easier to just admit you take it up the bum than invent all this hogwash about how you tilt your head to look up and down?

Before FPS games came 3D flight simulators. Everything else was a little man on a 2D platform game, or some isometric 3D nonsense (Ant Attack, Raid over Moscow etc).

Everything that is 3D is therefore mouse inverted for me. Its just a natural progression.

Inverted just feels good.

Like being penetrated by the guards...

Oops :(

TBH Bodhi - the fact that you think inverted is uberqueer is pretty solid evidence that it's good, right and sanctioned by God ;)

Exactamundo!

Well, apart from Ant Attack and Raid Over Mosco being "nonsense" :)

I was going to point out that it's a lot like being in 3rd person - you pull the camera down to be able to see further up. But then I realised that doesn't that imply that you ought to invert horizontal motion, also?

I think it's just a matter of taste.

Nah - up and down are governed by gravity - left and right are always going to be left and right :)

Back and Forward isn't though (the mouse that is):)

I suppose it depends on whether the 'user' is moving the cursor (or gun sight) or moving the person's body, ala FPS games.

Exactly. I used to think of it as moving head/body and thus used inverted mouse, but then realised it was a lot easier to do fine adjustments (sniping/shooting someone in the distance) by thinking about moving the gun, and thus non-inverted mouse.

Edit: And btw, I'm one of those old gamers, having started way back in 1981 on a friend's ZX81, then my own, then both of us getting ZX Spectrums.
