If you put 25 monkeys in a room, one of them will be able to program a bug-free Freeshards server in 10 minutes. How fucking hard is it to develop an entire DAOC freeshards server on your own in a week with zero bugs and full quest content ?!?!

A 'friend' of mine actually knows the answer. It's actually stupidly hard to get it working perfectly. If you've ever taken a look at the DAoC packet structure, and how it's written for shards (Fuck, it's in C# in shards.. Not C++) it's bound to buggy, also. There's the lack of staff on the project, not that many coders around.. So it is actually VERY hard, without a semi-dedicated team to get a project running properly. There are SO many more bugs that the public know about, it's bizarre.


Not that I'd know, of course.
