It might be worth while spending a little extra and going for a reputable trustworthy company (eg. Match.com) than some dirt cheap dodgy cowboy outfit (there are plenty of those)

Good luck to you

I kinda agree with this tbh. Those companies also have a better way of finding a partner that fits. Don't get me wrong, finding a partner is not a methematical problem you can solve by putting in the correct numbers, but they'll spare you the "worst case." Also you'll find less idiots on services you have to pay for. Maybe I'm a little spoiled ^^ but I prefer to pay a little more and get a good service =)

DONT USE THEM!

I met Ezteq on there and she did the whole "Falls in love, then tricks me to kill her husband so she can inherit his wealth, then phones the cops on me".

Luckily I killed the wrong guy and got away with it.

My uncle just got married to a women he met through a dating site, so I'd say yeah.

Though I prefer to meet my prospective lovers through some kind of interest we share.

Will say my brother has met a long-term partner through an unspecified online dating site (match.com or similar), and while they seem very happy together I will say that she is a widower, and has a face like a horses' arse.

What that says for my dearest older sibling is anyone's guess.

never used on line dating service myself but i met my future husband in daoc and we are getting married in november. You find love in the strangest places. I would say that looking for love normaly makes it harder to find. With me and ging it was just a natural thing we got talking and now were planning our wedding

DAOC, I met my current girlfriend in DAOC :) we've been together 4 years this august, we're getting married (no date set yet) and we're planning for children.

Story Time!

I was riding to spindhalla one day when I seen "Elisabeth (midgard healer)" speaking in guild chat (Bounty Hunters) she pm'd me and we had a nice long conversation :) at this point we were just friends.

We spoke many many more times after this each time growing closer and closer :) ultimately it lead to Elisabeth coming to visit me for a week (shes from belgium and i'm in england) we had a very nice week together, I was sad when she had to go home.

Anyway! to cut a long story short - she came back a few more times to see how things went, it went so well we made arrangements to move in together :) we both agreed it would be easier for her to move to england due to the language barrier (She spoke fluent english and I didn't speak a word of dutch).

Just goes to show you can meet amazing people in the most unlikely of places, always be prepared.

they speak dutch in belgium? bugger me i never knew that. well congrats its nice to hear stuff like this and tbh i can fully understand it i met some bloody lovely people when i played DAoC and if i was single when i was playing i'd probably have run off and married a few of them (yes i am greedy).

i think the reason why you form such a strong attachment on games and stuff is because while some people put on a character and an act a lot of people are 100% genuine, more so than if you met them IRL, they don't care about people thinking their opinions suck because they will probably never meet them so it doesnt matter, also there is the whole school of thought that a persons mind is their most attractive quality, when you meet face to face then their appearance will overshadow their personality.

The flemish part of Belgium speak well, flemish :), which is similar to dutch. And to my surprise, you will be more succesfull aproaching a flemish using english than using french

Flemish is the unofficial name for the language, officially it is called Dutch :)
The differences between Dutch from Belgium and Dutch from Holland are mostly in pronounciation and in expressions.

although possibly this isn't as bad as the time i was drunk and said that romans didn't eat pizza...that was the itallians.

in my defence i was really really drunk...and young.

Poirot has the french accent. Mine is... mine I guess. You gonna have to ask bloodomen about that.

There is the three best things about Belgium.
Their accents rate way below those 3 :p

Well Liège-Bastogne-Liège is in the french part so ofc the accents aren't too cute there:p I prefer to call it Luik-Bastenaken-Luik (dutch, not french).

But really, you prefer Luik-Bastenaken-Luik above all the nice sorts of beer Belgium has? You're just weird.
