At first I thought the new DMC was really good. It got quite boring quickly though, probably because of god of war, or else im just tired of smashing the same button over and over again. This is in my opinion just another 3rd person game with fancy gfx and repetitive gameplay

Hehe.. is a nice extra bonus. Tbh, is good to see the PS3 get something good at last to go with all the UT stuff (is that good?).. MS need a kick in the groin to make them stop being such plebs with pricing. They've shot themselves in the foot pricing HDs, HDDVD drives and Wireless adapters so damn expensive.. if they were cheaper (which I'm sure they could be) it wouldn't be such a problem if devs wanted to use the HD to install components or mods on, and they could start selling a bigger version(s) for non-extortionate prices too..

If you're button mashing, you're playing it wrong

DMC's combat system is unrivalled. God of War... now that's a button masher. Don't get me wrong, I love god of war more than any DMC game, but that's because of the atmosphere, the story, the music, the whole package. But DMC has a much more flexible combat system that rewards skill.

.... or are you playing on 'Automatic' combo mode?

I'm just a bit mad at the pricing for DMC for the PS3 i think Gamestation were doing DMC4 for the 360 for £24.99 yesterday thats nearly half the price of the PS3 version which is disgusting to be fair.

I could care less about load times being a few seconds faster because thats all it is at the end of the day.

Apart from preference for which control pad you like why would anyone with both consoles pay more for the same game?


The answer is most people won't which in the long term drives PS3 sales for this game down which again in the long term is not good news.

If the price was the same i would buy this for the PS3 if only for the fact i'm sick of my girlfriend coming in and saying 'i haven't seen you use that damn thing since a week after you bought it' and me replying 'because there is no games out yet love'.

I've played a older DMC game on the ps2, a long time ago. I just feel that the gameplay in DMC is very similiar to God of war, but just a tad worse in every area (except the gfx) :/

Spend 20 minutes installing and then have it load 2x3 times faster each time after that I do not think thats a joke and if that gives extra features too all the better. I do not like paying £10 more but if the games has more than the 360 version they would charge more would they not. I will gladly pay the £10 extra not to have to use the stupidly horrible 360 pads as i hate them. Not slagging of the 360 just the fact I personally hate the 360 pad.

i agree soze, i also prefer the lillets pad for optimum soakage, the 360 pad doesnt fit up my whatsit very well and keeps falling out

That was actually a mistake they had both priced at £24.99 they soon changed it though.

Please sell your PS3 and stick to XBox if you hate the PS3 so much you have to take every excuse to slag it off.

got this today..am a couple of hours into it..actually quite enjoying it- fun game ;] was £34.99 in woolies..£44.99 for ps3 l0l...the loading times for the 360 version are literally non existent as it is..what a waste of money the ps3 one is =o ..(Lf game to come on ps3 that i can buy) :d

£32.99 both 360 versions, £39.99 both ps3 versions. Don't overstate my prices

Limited editions flew out the door though, not sure if we will see anymore.

I'm not liking it that much but to be fair i haven't played the other games before it so i honestly don't know what the hell is going on ;/

Shame though as it does look good but i feel like i'm missing out on who Dante is exactly ;/

Plus this deep combo system everyone is talking about maybe i'm missing something but it seems its all about slamming the Y button x amount of times and moving the directional stick whilst holding RT.

There's a fuckton you're missing about the combat. Are you getting SSS ratings in fights? SS? S? Are you using instant-Exceed? Are you charging Blue Rose shots while slashing with Red Queen? Are you abusing the fuck out of DB grab? If this is your first DMC experience, it's probably safe to assume you've barely scratched the surface as far as combat goes.

Devil Hunter difficulty is way too easy btw. Anyone remember the start of DMC1 getting destroyed by silly marrionettes? Or getting raped over and over by the first fight on Phantom? good times

I'm told (haven't played my full game yet) that DMC4 should really be played on at least Son of Sparda difficulty to be fun like 1/3 (though you have to play through on DH to get SoS ://///)

yeah, i can see that. i got through DMC4 on devil hunter with only a couple of retries on a few of the harder boss fights. didn't die once from general stuff as far as i remember - maybe that bastard electro thing dante encounters first time. hated that!

it was certainly a lot easier than DMC3, but i was pulling my hair out at times with DMC3! i think nero is a lot more user-friendly. though changing back from dante to nero at the end of the game, i found myself not being able to do as much interesting stuff as i was able to with dante.

i played the demo. the combat is good, gfx good, monsters funny, dialogue funny. i like action, hack n slash shit with added bits and bobs.

are the extra bits and bobs worth buying the game for? can you upgrade weapons etc?

the game isn't bad, loads of buyable upgrades for weps/abilities etc, good gfx, cool bosses and fighting etc quite entertaining...but the story is a bit weak, cutscenes are sickeningly cheesy..the first 60% of the game is really quite enjoyable though (like 6 hours or something?) but when u turn to daunte...its still good, he is better than the first character you be, but you just fucking backtrack through areas you've already been in...it feels cheap. u even fight a few of the same bosses =op

trademark of the series is weak story and cheesy cutscenes, the first one was orignaly a spin off of Resident evil, when this changed Hideki Kamiya the guy behind the first one made it with cheesy cutscenes as homage to some 80s vampire flick. since then all the games have had it.

tho hearing about re doing the levels with dante is a bit of crap out, guess they havent learnt from dmc2

Hell yeah, DMC1 is one of the best games I've ever played but there was almost zero story content. It was just a typical Capcom game - the combat system was pure, the enemy design was perfect, and it forced you to improve before you could progress.
