Ditching the digital.

My digi camera just doesnt cut it for what i want to do so i am going back to my trusty 35mm SLR. Couple of questions though. When you get photo CD's from developers what size are the images & secondly can anyone offer advice in what to look for in scanners.

I've had discs from Jessops, they tend to be a max of 1500 pixels horizontally. Also, they don't appear to dust slides properly, a few of mine have had flaws.

Thanks for the reply Tom, was wondeirng if anyone was still alive in here. I just got a lovely EOS 5 second hand for £120 & i'm loving it.
