Anyone heard of these guys? Someone recommended me their album Opaline - it walks very closely to sub-David Gray / Cheesey Yank College Rock but it just avoids it, and I'm quickly turning into a big fan of these moody songsters.

That's the thing - I get this niggling feeling I shouldn't like them, but they are actually really quite good.
