To me it's a bit of a bigger deal as it might be the first single player FPS i've played in ages.

Depends if you want comfortable yet slightly "dumbed down", or more modding/options and little less homeyfeelysittingnicelywhileplaying.

Well that's a point too :p

Though with that extra money; no installation or graphics adjusting etc. So comfort again.

If you have a PC that can handle it, why even consider the console version?

Higher resolution
Modding options
cheaper

Well i get the console version for less than the PC version for £26 from Tesco using £5 coupon offer for preorder games and a friends 20% tesco staff discount.

My PC can handle it but i like my 40'' screen to play on, the PC version only uses DX9 so that put me off straight away, why don't devs use DX11 for the PC?

The game is looking like a 12-15 hour game it's not free roam so i'm not sure beyond that if it will be worth keeping.

Also when i'm done with the game i can trade the console version in for around £30, I'm really tempted for the PC version since i just spent £1000 on a new pc not long ago but just can't decide.

Enjoyed reading the reviews for this, most seemed to find the game refreshing in the sense there's no quest hub and base to sidetrack you from the main story and I actually find refreshing too given that almost every game these days has these features and tbh its just got very very old and annoying for me.

Roll on Friday looks like one of the most refreshing games of the year.

Any opinions? Decided to just order it and go for it since everyone's making a massive fuss about it.

I believe the words "worth it" is apt, haven't bought it myself yet "because xcom"(my current life mantra which seems to override wanking even...though there is this hot sniper in my team...), but certainly my next game down the list of must buy.

Bit of a moot point, not sure how uncomfortable 'clicking Install in Steam' is. Then all you need is to plug in a controller and sit on a comfy chair.

Looking forward to this, will probably get it, once I finished Sleeping Dogs and Torchlight.

Played the first hour or so on Sunday, seemed very good so far and reminds me a lot in terms of both how it plays and the overall style of the game/story of Bioshock (which is certainly no bad thing). My only concern is if it will hold my interest in the long-term but I think if it turns out to be the case that it doesn't it will be more down to my waning interest in single player games than any problem with the game itself.

Controller??? It's an FPS isn't it?

I rarely play games now, but I am interested in this. I'm tempted to go console (55" telly, comfy sofa, surround sound) but I remember really hating Bioshock on the PS3 because I was so used to games like HL2 on the PC and a game controller seems far less suitable than keyboard/mouse for FPS games. That said, I did manage to complete AC/AC2 on PS3.

I don't know what to do! Goddamit!

Played it.
Finished it.
Loved it.
Replaying it.

I was trying to backseat game Dishonored with a controller but the aiming mechanic for one of your main skills you'll use throughout the game is finicky, I therefore recommend keyboard/mouse if that option is available to you.

Also, one thing to greatly improve your experience of Dishonored: As soon as you start it up go into the options menu and turn off all Objective markers and Objective hints!

Thanks for the update - glad it's good :) I'm trying to finish Borderlands 2 so I can justify a purchase of this..

Though I also have XCom to play too :( Some time off work coming up and I'll be fairly housebound post-surgery so good times zo/

RE: the gaming mechanics.. What sort of weapons do you spend most of your time using ? I've seen a fair amount of gun-type action, but was hoping there'd be some decent close combat in there..

Ass i understand it, you spent majority of your time putting unsanctioned kitchen utensils into other peoples breathing tubes.
