The main tweak in v1.1 has been the decreasing of the power
of the AWP. Personally I like this a lot, since now its no
longer possible for a mediocre sniper to rack up many kills
in a row. Only those that are really good can get loads of
frags, since shots in the legs are no longer instantly le-
thal. What do you think about this particular tweak in v1.1?
Would you prefer the power to be set back to the old speci-
fications or do you like the new AWP just the way it is?
Give you opinion on this particular subject :)

I think it was a good idea, although I havent really played enough in the last week to see if it has made a difference.

Most snipers aim for the body anyway so maybe it will have little effect

It just stops them killing you when you leave a foot sticking or something.

I would have liked to see them make it so that you didnt die (quite) when shot in the body with full armour and health.

Just my 2p

Yeah, I like it too, but like Anatoly said, it doesn't really make a difference because body shots do kill... But it's nice to know that you're not gonna be getting fragged by a toe shot :) I'm not too keen on what they've done with the mp5 though, but i suppose it's for a good reason

Mp5?

They have also changed the Mp5 in some way? That I did not know. In what way has it been tweaked?

Apparently they have changed the accuracy off all the SMG's while jumping, so that they are only as accurate as if you were falling or standing on a ladder, which is not at all :(

The idea being to stop people from running around jumping all over the place. <)

Thing is I dont think they have altered it for the rifles, which is a bit unrealistic, you would have though jumping around with an MP5 would be much easier than with a Colt.

Yeah, that's a good idea, but they seem to have lowered the accuracy of the smg's in general, even if you're crouching... the smg's seem a little weaker in 1.1 too, but i'm not saying that's a bad thing ;)

Here's one to consider:

What if a non-lethal hit (say to the foot)were to have the effect of slowing down a player or making his aim wobblier as well as reducing health points?

This adds to the realism of being injured.

Boink, there goes my game of cs i now play only once every two months. Soon there will be little to do but stand on the spot shooting at each other, they seem to take more of the skilled element out of the game with every release these day:( Mp5 deserves to rule counter terrorist operations anyway, fast and light, and accurate, thats exactly how i played the game, and how it's done full stop:p. I didn't stand on my ass waiting, i was allways quick, had the element of suprise and i was allways half on the mouse button round every corner. Trust me attacking a target with an assault rifle realy wouldn't be an option if you were doing it for real, there's no way a man carrying an assault rifle would be able to react faster than a guy carrying a fast accurate sub in urban operations. You might call it dm or whatever, but trust me, it was very rare i was ever on the loosing team, or had a score under 40:p

Long live the MP5:p

Personally I liked the power of the AWM as it was. I think that they should have just further slowed its reload time between shots.

right lets see

1)AWP changes good, but I have noticed the CS team know something we all did not -Hl netcode means a hell of a lot of AWP shots hit legs, even if it's not where u aim. Still a powerful gun and any AWP whore with sense will use a deagle to take out any one who does not die instantly or have a smg/rifle backup.

2)Lets clear this on-up, as a regular on the cs.netforums I get sick of people making up or guessing what has changed -i mean there is an official change log. Okay all SMG accuracies have been lowered only when jumping.

No they have made no changes to any power settings or accuracy other than the jumping one.

Your right it should be more accurate, and thats why it IS. They reduced the SMG jump accuracy because it was to good, all the other guns were already awful when jumping and still are -play CS for more than an hour a weak and you can figure that one out.

Well Kurt don't worry, you still can, the SMg accuracy changes really only take effect when u bunny hopp normal jumping and shooting is still pretty accurate and if anything you get more MP5 headshots now :)
