We have dog licences in Ireland and they do fuck all. What would I suggest? It's difficult to think fo something concrete but I'd try some sort of awareness campeign. Make people aware of the reprecussions of mistreating animals, press people to take social repsonsibilty to speak up against it if they see it and maybe have a phone-line people could call if they see animals (I guess specifically dogs in this case) being bred to fight/mistreated.

Not a perfect soloution but a start I think.

Certain breeds of dogs should be neutered unless the owner has a breeding license and make it a fucker to get

Little update, jude is doing well and yesterday a Dundee Fc player turned up with presents for him which was really nice seeing as its his favourite team

Although i've just got myself a 3/4 patterdale and a 1/4 lakeland. He's a beauty.

We have a 2 year old male pit bull and he's a great dog who has never shown aggression to people. Cats, of course, are a different story...if a cat runs from him he chases it down, jumps on it and chews it up. If a cat doesn't run from him he jumps on it and chews it up, so the only difference is the cats that run die tired.

Come to think of it he doesn't like any four legged animals unless he can mount them. When my friends visit I tell them to never, EVER get on their hands and knees.

But he is a great dog, regardless of what my cats say.
