Disconnect from servers ?

I installed BF1942 yesterday, applied the patch and played abit of the single player game to get used to things.

Then i went to try the mp game, but a few seconds after i spawn in the game, i get kicked to the bf1942 mp screen, with a message "disconnected from server".

Tried different servers, but same result. Thought it may be zone alarm, but still no good after turning za off.

Any ideas plzz ?

Could you do me a favour and look at the log file for BF which can be found in;

/EA Games/Battlefied 1942/Mods/bf1942/Logs

/there you go cdr, hope it helps, as this problem is driving me nuts. Its a random disconnection, as i managed to play for an hour in one game, other times it may kick me off after a few seconds.

I can't see any problems in there.

Do you get 'Connection Problems Detected' box?

Make sure your connection speed is set correctly, you may have to join a server using the ingame browser in order for it to save.

Nope. "disconnected from server", and kicks me back to the mp lobby.

Really strange this. Saturday and sunday night to early hours, everything was fine. Played for about 3 hours non stop.

But saturday and sunday during the day, it was lucky if i managed to stay in a server for half hour.

Really doing my nut in this.

Its only bf1942 that disconnects. Half life and Day of Defeat runs fine.

Are you on 56k? If so most servers are set to kick you off with high ping

nope Cable modem.

This problem gets stranger by the day. I have narrowed it down to connection during the day. Last night (monday) I played from 1am until 5 am, without a disconnect the same as saturday and sunday night.

Were you TK'ing, they will boot you automatically on some servers if you do Some have admins who will kick teamkillers when they are on. Could explain why you don't get kicked during the day.

Are you NTL ??

I have the same problem quite often, all i have to do is unplug my modem for 30 seconds to reboot the line connection and it sorts it straight away.

Note: all my other games work fine also, it only happens with this game, but that sorts it every time.
