My sister got one of those glass kettles ages ago and I was impressed so much I got one too, after the limescale-o-matic given as a wedding present from my wife's cheapskate cousins finally gave up the ghost.
But today I bumped the glass against the tap whilst filling it and it broke, so I decided to get another one, by the same manufacturer, because it's cheap.
Kettle technology had moved on again, this latest glass one has a funky set of lights that illuminate the boiling water, making tea in the dark has never been so exciting.
