F707 = Sony

wanted the Finepix F6900 but they didn't have any at the time so I ended up shelling 400 squid more for the 5MP sony... Carl Zeiss lens, according to the counter I've only taken 2000 odd snaps, so that's 50p/time :)

Ixus are nice, but have you ever tried changing the settings? some of the new ones come with a little plastic nub on the carry cord because the buttons are so small and recessed you need the plastic proddy thing to press them

How did the camera work out Kenny?
I'm buying something in the next couple of weeks, well Mrs Yuck is anyway, are there any good deals to be had anyone?
All I need is a snapper, although the zoom feature might be useful, as would a flash, 2 megapixels should be just fine.
Suggestions anyone?

I got myself a nice Sony DSC-P71. It's nice.

BTW, Kenny. Is that a river in the second picture, or a mass of floods?

It's a river or stream or something. Me and Dams were taken up to Derby for my work's Xmas do. We went for a wander around the peak district and that's the stream/river we walked beside.

Having played with an Olympus camera (1.3M), and owning a fuji finepix (2.0M)...

I find the Olympus better.

Both are good outdoors, but the fuji doesnt seem to pick up on darker light levels as well - you end up with yellowy images and images a bit out of focus. If you put it in manual mode, and set all the bits and pieces, its great, but for quick snapping, its a bit shit really. Unless your in daylight, that is.

Also, the Olympus had better build quality - it just felt more solid. I soon proved that one though - I dropped the Fuji within seconds of asking someone to hold the camera incase I dropped it.
Absolutely fucked, it was.
From about waist height, with the lens protruding - the thing couldnt open close or focus anymore.

I managed to blag a free repair (honest, it was like that when we opened it) but now they dont make them anymore, i'm buggered it it happens again :(

That was brought from Morgans on, errr, the road towards Holborn from Tottenham Court Road tube station. 3 month warranty - long gone.

Nice photos, especially the last one, I like the way the moving water looks, slow shutter speed I suppose.
They are certainly better than anything I get out of my Box Brownie :)

It's Claire, as the filename suggests.

She's Andy's girlfriend.
