Actually, bored at work in a sweltering office (heatings stuck on - im working on a maternity ward - im going to kill someone if this carries on ;) )

Seeing as scouts are so badly gimped with their primary weapon, i wonder if all archers are and if this is the case, how comes the keep archers are always spot on, and have the most viciously capped at 2s draw and fire time? I kinda hoped that mythic would've looked at this to keep the field a little leveller...

I do NOT think that archers are uber. In fact I genuinely struggle to understand why anyone would play one -- in fact I REALLY struggle to understand why Sojiro retired his Paladin to play his scout (Cry).

As I've mentioned at least 2-3 times already in this thread I was merely explaining why scouts had to be nerfed.



Now if you have had a bad at work, an argument with the missus then please -- flame away if it makes you feel better.


But on a non-flame note I'd say that the fumble rate is a very silly way of nerfing archers - reducing their damage would, surely, be much more effective. I'd certainly not play my Paladin very much if he missed 20% of the time when trying to hit the enemy!!

afaik the miss % is 22% and the fumble % is 27% (fumble after miss, like guard after block) So far my lvl 25 scout still hits 95% of all shots both RvR and PvE so..

Most characters in Thidraki are alts. The main character of those players have enough money to SC masterpiece armor parts. They got cap stats, resists and skill points. Plus they got better armor bonus than your bow attack bonus.

Yes, missrates with scouts is a fucking insult and it's not fun but what can we do..

Last I remember shooting a luri chanter to 'bout 1% hp then last hit is a fumble then I'm interupted by his pet and game over ^^ Sux. Just hoping for some love in a future patch heh.

scouts are screwed, failrly well documented bug in fumble miss code, especially on 1st shot (should it be a crit shot), melee damage is naff all, shield slam is practically impossible to land RvR.

have a read on the TL reports over on vnboards.ign.com

My advice, dont delete, use as a vault bot till the circle comes around again...

ARCHER CHANGES:

After having forgotten about archers for quite a while now, we have decided to give them something to make archers worth playing again.
Despite the fact that archers are an endangered species who is gimped to not much more than spending realm points (little only - since an archer is not able to gain too many anyway) for all the other classes, we think we should finally give archers some love.
To make an archer fun to play we have added different fumble styles and several stumble styles, here are some examples:
- A fly is flying by, of course drawing the archers attention and his brutal will to immediately go for this chance of an easy kill, dropping his bow & arrow and killing the evil beast.
You will not gain any realm points or experience from killing these flies.
There is a chance of this fight against the fly taking quite some time - be prepared that your bow, dropped to the ground, might disapear while you are fighting the monster.
- From time to time a hooked arrow will be too weak to stand the pressure put on it by the bowstring and break in two halfs. Fletchers can fix these broken arrows with a skill above 1000 so you will not lose any money from broken arrows.
- We have added a 25% chance of the bow hitting the archer because he released the bow instead of the bowstring. The damage done to the archer by such a hit will be twice your critshot damage.
- Archers can now be allergic to several dozen plants that are growing all over the frontiers and homelands. When being near such plants you have a 50% chance of sneezing while drawing and arrow aiming at your target. If you happen to sneeze you will drop your bow and arrow and be stunned for 3 minutes.
- There is now an animation if you stumble with your 50 points in bow skill like someone who has never seen a bow before. Since this animation is consuming a lot of CPU time of the graphic card you will be laggy for the time of the animation - but the animation is worth it. Additionally we have raised the stumble rate for all archers. The new formula to calculate fumble rates will make sure that you can see this wonderful animation every third arrow from now on.
- We have added the ability to throw your bow against a wall or an enemy. You will not make any damage when throwing it against an enemy but in return receive a 75% chance of breaking the bow.
- There is a 33% chance of getting a hickup at any time from now on. While suffering from this you can not hook any arrows and your character will make a nice "hick" sound that is heard a mile far. You will not be able to enter stealth or log out during this time.

We hope these changes will end the whining you have been doing for the past months and make archers worth playing again.

obtw dont look like scout's will not get any love untill 1.63 :(
