'Cause I've just downloaded the High Voltage Sid Collection - most of the music from the C64 :)

Track 6 of "The Last Ninja" is bringing back memories :)

Ahhh.... now if only I can find a Vic20 emulator and a copy of Jetpack my life would be complete :)

my 1st computer was a ZX Spectrum 48k with the little rubber keys, and I used to think it was the greatest thing on earth, then the C64 was released so I upgraded.

ahh those were the days, waiting 15 mins for the game to load, watching thos lines flash all over the screen, and then watch it all crash just as it was nearly finished loading.

Had the Atari 2600, then the VIC20 followed by the Mighty C64

The vic had 8 colors, 3.5 kilobytes of ram... Not bad for the worlds first colour home computer :)

I had the 16k ram expansion pack. A bargain at 50 quid in 1980.

(Needed it to play Jetpack).

GREAT! :great:

(I'll get over these smilies one day)

I still have my old Speccy, plus Interfaces 1, 2 and 3, with 2 Microdrives and even a Centronics/Mouse adapter.

Interface 3 was cool, a little red button that froze the machine and dumped it onto tape or microdrive, so you loaded up your game, and right after the anti-piracy stuff hit the button. Put it on a microdrive and no more hanging around waiting for the tape to fail, loaded in around 30 seconds.

Skool Daze, etc, ah the memories, must get it all out and set it back up one day.

The only game I ever liked on the C64 was a curious one called "Ankh".

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! The good old Vic 20, a master piece in it's time .......

until the c64 came out anyway (which wasn't long) perhaps a glimpse into the future of the computer industry, i.e. it's out of date before you have had a chance to get it out of the box.

Anyone remember Voodoo castle a ROM game for the Vic 20, text based adventure ?

And did anyone finish it ?

This may jog your memories

Aahh...still have fond memories of playing Paradroid, Ghostbusters et al.

The clunky floppy drive was cool, melting the PSU whilst playing Bards Tale 3 wasn't though :(

Ikari Warriors :)

Paradroid was brilliant but I did feel a little cheated after finally clearing the first freighter to find all the others were identical !

I still have my C64 with the 1541 disk drive and Freeze Machine cartridge. Many hours of fun were had playing the numerous games i had i.e. Delta, Paradroid, Nemesis, BF1942 (not the modern game) and my all time fave Bubble Bobble, in total i had roughly 600 games (still have them).

Pippa has a C64 emulator on her PC called CC64, which is readily available for download, unfortunately i can't remember the URL for the download site.
