Seriously? woah, never knew - stopped playing a long while ago admittedly but I kept messing around every now and again to keep my account active up untill 1-2 years ago, never realised it was in there

Now rushing through the normal difficulty to kill the big D and get to HC characters. Hate this softcore crap...

Heh, i just killed D with my skelemancer... all my minions died in 1.3 seconds so i had to whack the big boy to death with my ethereal wand that had 1-97 lightning damage on it.

hey guys, created a assassin on Ladder mode, not realising what ladder was, now i know my char will be deleted at some point (or reset)? was told it was approx every 12 months?
didnt find this out till lvl 22, and loads of nice equip/spec i got and im a tad annoyed tbh!

Oh...i thought the ladder choice only meant you're in the ladder thingy...

didn't know anything about a reset/death.

well they haven't patched the server for a long time now so. i don't think they are going to do a server reset in a long while. No idea tho.

This is how it works, according to how i understood it - don't shoot me if i'm wrong!

Being a ladder character just means you're on the ladder lists (kind of like a battle.net highscore list) while the current ladder season runs. Once the current season ends, all characters created during it shift into non-ladder characters and only freshly made characters become the "new" ladder chars. Only ladder characters can use certain cube formulas and runewords, as far as i understand.

In short, you have nothing to lose by creating a ladder character. And if you're lucky you get to use some ladder-exclusive recipies (such as being able to upgrade runes further up the chain) before you turn into a non-ladder char.

I don't know how long a ladder season is or when they reset the ladder. My guess is every few months, maybe even half a year?

hehe thats the thing, got 150k gold, nearly a full box of upgraded gems etc. ladder is much better for drops

I'll probably moving over to HC when i've killed the D man, or if some lovely person fancies rushing me there....

and why on earth have you got over 200k? gamble it !!!
