Im wanting a menu to drop down a list of subcategories. I’ve found various ones on many websites but these don’t seem to act the same way as what I would like.

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/home/

I love the menu that ebuyer have here. A simple drop down when moving your mouse over each category.

I’ve looked at their source and tried replicating it but it just doesn’t want to play. I’ve copied the JS etc.

Ideas or recommendations?

Just tried it in IE on my machine works fine. The site is a noncommercial site anyway.

Hi ]SK[

Dynamic Drive and many other sites offer these types of menus.

If you're after something really swish, you cannot fail to be impressed by Youngpup's TransMenus or the less fancy, but still amazing, ypSlideOutMenus. That guy certainly knows how to code :) (Direct example).

Of course if you want to be cutting edge you can create drop down menus using pure CSS and no Javascript (like Ben/Shovel) but note this won't work in Internet Explorer or other less capable browsers. Of all the methods, the CSS version is the most accessible if you absolute have to have drop down menus, but for personal sites I don't think there's any harm in showing off with a little Javascript, especially of the Youngpup variety.

Kind Regards
