DF portal

why do people sit and camp the DF portal when its closed? is this a new cheat where the keeps get taken back automatically when you sit and stare at it?

They're learning a valuable economics lesson about freeloaders and the value of taking an action that's less than optimal from a purely selfish viewpoint IF the gate is opened for a short time, then the people camping it are the ones most likely to get it - so asuming that being in Darkness Falls is more desirable than xping/RvR elsewhere, it makes sense to camp the gate waiting for it to open, because you can get in without all that effort of fghting guards and building rams. Of course, if everyone does that then, as you've pointed out, the gate won't open at all and they're left sitting their waiting for someone else to do the hard work for them.

think of it as an idiot tax on the realms - each realm loses a chunk of RvR and cash-earning potential based on how many greedy, selfish morons it holds (so IMO Excal/Mid is surely doomed... )

ive been on every keep take for alb port today then when i see people sitting and staring i think.... grrr

This whole period is kinda vexing on us mid-20s who want to level. I'm an inf - I'm not great at soloing. The only consistent place for me to solo is Keltoi, but adds would be I'd die alot.

DF has presented itself as a good place to solo and level.. great. When DF is closed, my only choice is to group in catacombs. But there is noone to group with because everyone is in DF. And because everyone is in DF keeps get taken and not retaken, etc, and DF doesnt reopen. I'd love to go help people retake keeps but theres not alot I can do, being level 24. Thidranki is empty because of DF.

i quite enjoyed having the space to move about in emain last night great fun
i even ran into 2 yellow con middies ..i don`t think i`ve EVER seen 2 yellow con middies in 1 night they`re usually all red

anyway killed em both solo who says paladins are gimps in RvR?

From being in emain by myself very very bored, it only took 30 minutes to call some alliance members to come bash the 2 DC's out of Hibernia... Its just when your running back through camelot and people are thanking you for opening the door (who should have been at the raid). One day its gonna shut just before you get there... thats when your gonna turn into a door camper!

well one of them cast some little lightning thingies that hurt my ears he did that twice then a gap and a 3rd thingy he kinda looked shocked for a second or 2 then i turned him into mashed potato any ideas what class he`d have been? i thought mayeb skald

the other seemed to have no magic but carried a double handed axe so i guess warrior? he lasted a bit longer and took nearly 10% of my health off

both cool guys i reckon cos they stood and battled even when it was obvious they were dead

I have both my main characters sitting at the portals. Why? Well, my Mid main is not in a guild, and thus totally unaware of what's going on where. He's a warrior, and thus, not much use in RvR ( ), so he just sits there.

My Alb main is not high enough to have any effect on keep takes, so he just sits there too.
