Ahhhh can't wait. Only 4 more weeks till i will be uninstalling DF2 and installing DFLW. I loved DF1, Liked DF2 for it's long grass but it ran slower than a skoda. I have played the demo through about 40 times now and used my 120 minutes online time (damn timecrack wouldn't work).

Oh well hope to be shooting y'all in a months time.

:D :) :D :) :D

I have a *cough* copy *cough* and tbh, I thinks it's cool, if not a little 'tedius' at times. Snipering some bloke from 500mtrs in the chest / head is quite cool tho, what with the wind / drop off playing part.

All in all it's a good game, dunno what it'll be like online in a co-op tho. Oh, and the silenced handgun thingy is v cool :p speshly when you get to hear the people splutter and die from upclose.

I've played the demo and it just seems to be a sniper sim to me... sure it's fun killing someone from 2 miles away, but how many times is that gonna be fun for until it gets boring ?? Are there any other aspects to the game at all ?

I bought a copy from the States and thought it was pretty poor (at least in single player). The gameplay is repetative, offering no real advances over the first 2 and the single player AI is spectaculary awful.

The graphics are a major improvement thanks to 3D acceleration (though the models and animation are still poor by modern standards), but as a single player game I'd take Project IGI any time.

Of course this is just my opinion and as with all the DF games multiplayer is alot of fun, so your milage may vary.

I played one of the others multiplayer at a lan once (some kind of ctf variant) and it just ended up as one huge camp-a-thon... I'll probably go the IGI way... that looks pretty impressive

My only major gripe is ... the weapons look like a copy and paste of some shitty sketch ...

I've completed the game (have a legal copy :p), and played a few games online.

I agree the single player does get a tad annoying after a while BUT there is a mission editor which allows you to create your own missions so the play factor is still there.

Online it rocks. I've seen some players run away into the background and snipe throughout the game, but you soon see where they are and take them out :).

Not all the maps are huge, and there are some based in built up areas where sniping is a no no.

I'm writing the official guide for it at the moment, and I hope it will prove useful :)

And you haven't lived until you've played a few serious, drawn out co-operative games with a few friends. As you've probably all read in MikeyBear's review, a co-op between me, Mike and SAS was huge amounts of fun, and we're going to play some 4 and 5 player co-ops next week on some of the larger maps 'to test them out'.

Oh, and the description of the 3 player game? It's frighteningly accurate...I remember one online game a played once - two teams playing against each other in some two team mode (can't remember which) where one of the players on the other team was rather good, so we (my team that is) spent the entire match running around trying to box him in and kill him - it was a great hoot, lots of fun and we managed to form a team that worked together out of people who'd never played together before (myself included) and were from several different countries. Most excellent fun...
