Slow? Mine's maxed out at 59K/sec. Are you a logged-on subscriber? If not, I believe the download is capped at 12K/sec.

yeah, the "public" FTP

I usually do my downloads from gamershell.com .... no hardcap there.... 200kbps on a good day. :p

not gonna wait all week at 12kbps :)

Mine maxed out at 120K/Sec on the subs server....gamershell may have no hardcap but it really doesn't need one since you're lucky to get any sort of speed above 50K/sec from it :p

it is utter shite!
finally i find someone who agrees with me
the gfx are pants (no better)
yet it lags on 2.4ghz, 4200 at 1024*768!
its nothing special, tbh i wont bother with this game when it comes out

Holy shit! What an ugly, ugly game. Bad menus, clunky controls, abysmal performance considering the graphics are so very very dated.

Nasty. This game smells bad.

Hmm, when I saw the trailer for this game a couple of weeks ago I couldn't make up my mind if it looked really poor or it was just a bad quality trailler. Seems I was right in the first instance.

IT is based on the unreal engine so it ain't gonna be overly pretty. But I refuse to believe this game will be bad. The demo is pretty poor and doesn't run well but it is only a demo. I agree though that this should not have been released. It will spoil it for all the aesthetic fanboys.

Anyway.

Pfft, stop complaining. It's a preview demo. I thought it wasn't half bad :p

Granted, it's laggy, but as I've said....'preview'.

The menus take a bit of getting used to, but so did DE1....

No the graphics are shit. The Physcis are shit. The Characters act and move like they are all constipated. The voiceing is cheesy and awful.

And stop hiding behind the "Its only a demo" line.

That Demo is utter tripe.

It was poo. The faces (At least the one i chose..) looked like it was a photo streched across a flat surface. The graphics were poor and ran at what seemed like 10fps on my radeon 9800. The controls also seemed unresponsive, although that might have been because of my fps.

Yer but nowadays we get the 'new and improved' demos which aren't really demos but single level betas :mad:

Logic is screaming at me that this is exactly how the full game is going to be.
I mean, you've got a sequel to a popular game, a fair whack of hype behind it, and many many people looking forward to its release... why release a demo that makes the brilliant game look like wank, unless the 'brilliant game' itself *is* a load of wank ?

I think the point the demo lost me was when I went up that fire escape, to the place with the cats in the bathroom, and an NPC was stood in the corner saying again and again something like "ow, it burns... I think it's poison... ow, it burns... I think it's poison... ow, it burns..." etc etc, making no attempt to move, say anything different or even just stop speaking.
Then I went down the corridor and got into a <1fps gunfight and died. There's no excuse for a framerate like that while running in 640x480 on a machine that handles Call of Duty on max detail perfectly. :(

Really is a shame... I was looking forward to this game. :(
