I thought during Checkups they always prodded you with "unknown" objects, to see how big your "Pain Threshold" was....

Valium worked though, I felt happy. Anti-depressants just made me depressed, I took one once(huge red bastid), and after about an hour I couldn't walk or keep my eyes open, that was an awful experience. When I took the Valium I couldn't stop my mouth from smiling..........fucking wonderful drug.

Its been 10 years now since my "problems", I kinda owe being alive to Samm:D

*cough*Betablockers*cough*

I was given betablockers for anxiety attacks last year (brought on by having no sense of balance), and I was as chilled as a karmic cow. Though coming off them after only a week was rough. Don't plan to be doing anything if you have too, its worse than the original symptoms.

Anti-depressants are possibly the most useless things in the world, been taking prozac for about 8 months and I'm worse now than before

Mind you, prozac is a corporate whore drug anyway.

I took Prozac as well, pile of shite useless thing it was as well.

You gotta do the things you dread the most to sort your brain out tbh, either that or wait and hope you grow out of it.

Yeah, which is basically what CBT entails. Pity it fucks your head up in the short term.

Well i just have a root filling today on my left molar after some root canal work last week to sort out all the dead shite down there that had caused a lovely abscess to form. I gotta say for all the work the dentist did on it today (like 45 minutes worth) it doesn't hurt at all now, i was surprised because after reading up on root fillings i was expecting it to be rather sore for a week or so. I'm just glad its sorted because when the abscess kicked in two weeks ago it was awful, i was getting 3 hours sleep a night(if that). Although it was painful, it wasn't just that, it was the constant throbbing that wouldn't go away and made me feel like taking a pair of plyers to the tooth for some relief. course its my own fault for not keeping regular dental checkups :)

Well in my case I am wishing for root canal, beats extraction I feel.

Your jaw will ache like fuck tomorrow though Ultimate, because of keeping your gob open for so long. Small price though.

It is alot of work though, I had root canal once, unpleasant but I felt no pain I think.

How much is it for extraction?

At my dentist, i was quoted £10 for an extraction and £60 for a root filling, the other 20+ quid was x-rays etc. I suppose the further South you live the more expensive it would be though.

The thing is i could have got it sorted ages ago for the price of a filling, i saw a hole, but it didn't hurt, so i didn't get off my lazy ass and get it sorted. The reason it didn't hurt of course was eventually the cavity caused the tooth nerve to die, so no pain. It was only when the root decayed and a abscess formed i felt pain(and what bloody pain). First visit the dentist asked me if i wanted an extraction or filling, then he took out as much shite as he could, sprayed some anti-biotic stuff down there then temp packed it. This week he took out more shite and then put the filling in. He also gave me a short course of anti-biotics to sort out any remaining infection
