Anyone else catch this yesterday? ITV1 at 19:25 (damn footie over ran or it would of been 19:20)

Looks to be a promising show along the lines of Primeval but with demons instead of dinosaurs (as you probably know, I wub dinosaurs...not too keen on goblins and the like but the show looks good) only downer is the flaming awful yank accent the "grown-up" character does...why oh why oh (spells yoyo but aside from that...) why can't they either just hire a yank or make the char english??

anyhoo if youre in to this kind of thingy its worth a looksee

Watched it, not overly impressed, annoying accent and the weedy main character just irritated me.

Will watch it next week to give it a chance :)

I saw this and I though it was awful. The acting was horific and it looked so cheaply made. Why Gene Hunt would put his name to this i dunno!

my 2p :p

I liked it it will not win awards for the acting but I don't care, not every show can have oscar standard acting, The story was good and has potential I will watch the other 5 for sure.

Was looking forward to this, but missed it last night as I was at the pub, will have to catch up on it, and check out the new ItvPlayer at the same time, see how it compairs to the BBC and C4 one.

I thought it was utter pants. Predictable, bog standard FX, dreadful acting, and don't even get me started on Gene Hunt's accent (why didn't he just play an Englishman?). Probably highly enjoyable if you're 9 years old, or Laddey.

Will give next weeks a miss. If you've not seen it, you've not missed anything.

This is why Britain shouldn't make it shows like this, leave it to the yanks with a better budget.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel are what? 9+ year old shows? they put this POS to shame.

Also omfg at the lame Ruby song in it how cheese was it? made me cringe.

Thought the show was 'ok' - remember how crap the first Buffy was? (pre-TV) it was a big flop.

First episodes are always tough, I'm going to give it 2-3 episodes and see where it goes. It may well be utter pants, but I like the idea of Van Helsing running around the streets smiting stuff.

Don't agree with Britain to stop making shows, the UK has made some great programmes (The Office?) and even better ones like Red Dwarf, given how low budget that was to start with.

Personally i thought it was fucking diabolical. The acting was a joke, bad acting means bad film/programme IMO.

The acting was nearly as bad as the film Taken

tbh the first episode of Primeval was pretty shoddy but that turned in to an ace show (imo) Ok i deffo agree that the special effects are pants but i grew up watching shows without CGI where the sets were made of card and you had to use your imagination to enjoy it...whereas now everything has to look more realistic than something that is actually real.

It wont win any awards but, i think anyway, its a bit of fun and something that makes a bloody nice change to all the sodding game shows and reality shows and (eergh!) reality game shows that are dribbling out of every available oriface TV has I hate "Strictly" and "on Ice" and wont even watch "hole in the wall" celeb "come dine with me" can FOAD imo OK I'm sick of people singing and dancing and cooking and cutting hair and performing open heart surgery "live in front of a studio audience" where you have to cast your vote, i dont wanna frikkin interact, leave me alone with me sofa and me soda and me pizza fgs, stop expecting me to "get involved"...even talking about these shows is exhausting with the sheer amount of quote marks i have to use aargh i hate em.

so yes, crappy monsters, dubious accents and flimsey plots pwn all that tbh.

QFT!
SO what if the effects are bad, while I love Heroes, and it's nice to watch, you don't need the latest CGI to enjoy a show. Red Dwarf is a great example of this, same with Doctor Who and then all the old series from the 80s etc, which had shite effects, but are still great fun to watch. I think Hollywood has shown us successfully that just because you have a huge effects budget, it doesn't mean that what you make with it is in any way good or enjoyable to watch.

I agree but it still doesn't mean they shouldn't have a decent budget for some good actors.

This show is terrible and i hope it gets cancelled asap.

Lets face it anyway they only made it on the budget it has to last them until X factor/I'm a celeb start up anyway.

They'll put on any old crap until the next Z-list celebity reality show comes on and like the gullible mindless lobotomised TV junkies people are, they'll watch any old shite and convince themselves its quality TV. ITV truly sucks. BBC wins hands down (and is better than the zillions of pay per view channels shite people get sucked into). Oh I must have 900 channels ! Pfff !

did you not see Bonekickers???? that was the biggest heap of cringeworthy crap i have ever seen (and i like crap, but this wasn't the enjoyable kind) even I could only stomache the first episode and even then I almost attempted swallowing my own toung to get out of it. Although, the BBC do win hands down when it comes to period dramas and natural history docu's but generally i avoid them like the plague with anything else.

Big celebs and a big budget does not automatically equal a good quality programme. Take...oh i dunno, say any of tom cruises films for example...or even better go rent Alexander.

p.s. I didn't say it was quality TV (lol i'm not delerious), its just some enjoyable shite for a saturday night.

I agree with Lamp, ITV suck at Drama's. BBC in general make quality Drama programmes. The only ITV Drama series I can even think of that were half decent were Sharpe, Sherlock Holmes, Cracker and Prime Suspect . I'm sure there are others but not that many.

As for Demons, can't stand the stupid Yank accent. Still, the series has some promise but not a great start.

Blasphemour, you'll be the first to go come the Alien Invasion!

Lengend was a great film and Top Gun inspired a whole generation to buy Ray Bans.

I think Sky 1,2,3 are the best they have some quality programs on there.

I like that program Road Wars, fucking hilarious.
