diff screen panel, have only a hdcp DVi port and you need a dual link gfx card ati 1800 nvidia 7800 cards have this feature. i called a couple of weeks back about this and was told price will be somwhere between £1400-£2000 but no availability date.
been thinking of getting one but i'll need a new pc as well:/
also the widscreen 2405fpw and 2005fpw are getting replaced soonish with better panels and hdcp no solid date for those tho
i know that guy, he sells nowt but dell kit as agent or some thing
im gonna get one, but first need sell of a load of my current kit. get a SLI shuttle. btw the current 30" screens use an LG panel and ones made late feb early march are meant to use the much better samsung panel;
but the dell 20, 24 and 30 inch widescreen tft's use exactly the same tft panels as the apple versions, (samsung) - except aparently some of the dell 30 inchers now use LG panels.
Ch3tan, how's your 24" for gaming? You may have said, but refresh my memory please in particular, do you ever notice any ghosting or suchlike? I'd certainly feel like an upgrade since I learned that I can run BF2 at unsupported rezzes
heheh pedant the thing is, I've recently got this nice 19" iiyama tft, and it *is* nice indeed. so much so that I've recommended it to others, which is high praise indeed. but I've also got this sli rig that everyone's mouthing off at me about, and the 1920 x 1200 of the 24" dell screen seems a nice rez to try out.
my only niggle being that Dell wants to sell me a new 24" 2405 for 1200 odd euros, whereas my lovely iiyama 19" was 400 at new. I'm not believing that I'm getting 3x the monitor, so a second hand one seems more in order.
I currently use an iiyama ProLite E481S and while the Dell is indeed nice I've turned into a penny pincher which means I won't spend out for it....now if someone wants to give me one then no problem
I said it somewhere else, but getting such a large screen for gaming will be expensive. It's just so hard to keep buying the best hardware to play the latest games at a decent framerate at fullscreen.

the 2405 is fine for gaming and has little ghosting. dell are supposed to release and upgraded ver with hdcp over dvi or with seprate hdmi conn. but the screen its self is great so good that playing fight night round 3 demo is a thing beuty
for example
shot taken via my sony p150 cam loks much better in rl
tbh im gonna keep my 2405 for x360 and 2nd pc and am thinking of getting the 30" for pc use and pr0n!
It's amazing for gaming tdc, and it does support lower resolutions if your graphics card poops out for gaming, without looking like "oh fuck, non native resolutions look teh shit!". But I would hold on for the version with hdcp. Buy from the guy I linked the 30" ebay link. He sells them new, and cheaper than dell, and with full euro warrenty.
Aria now selling for £1056 inc VAT, thats £347.80 off RRP It is a special price but you can expect the offer to be on and off for at least a month, Aria are always doing this with Dell screens.
