Dell 2001FP TFT psu

i just one of these nice bugger as replacment for the sgi 1600sw i broke a few months ago, the screen is mint but the psu came with a yank 3 pin plug that needs a socket converter ( actual psu is a switching one) anyone know if its ok to keep it plugged in 24/7?

Yer shouldn't be a problem.

I have two of them, both with a US plug converter I have them plugged in 24/7

kewl, was a bit woried it may be dangerous having it pluged in 24/7. top screen init:)

Check the plug is fused, if not, you're breaking the letter of the law. Electrical fires start that way. Personally, I'd cut the american plug off, and stick a British one on.

aye me dad told me as much when he lokked at it, phoned dell up about it and they are sending me a new cord at sodding rip off price of £30+p&p :/

That's right. My father told me the same thing when he examined it [the monitor]. I phoned Dell about [the monitor] and they agreed to send me a replacement cord at the ridiculous price of £30, not including postage and packing!
