Ya I totally forgot about that game. Read about it some months ago and it does look very promising doesn't it?

Thanks for the reminder cHodAX!

And how good was that game? Fucking great iirc. You can't buy any decent game for £10 these days never mind one that delivers superb single and multiplayer. It might be basic but that is the beauty of it, fun frantic and simple to play which is something that 99% of game developers these days don't have a clue about. Loads of games on the Amiga were sheer genius for the time, it was less about the graphics and more about the gameplay.

thing is mate, its not new at all it been done to death already
they havent added anything whatsoever to the genre and barely brushed up the gfx.
I completely agree the Amiga days were when innovation in the gaming industry was at its peak, but all i am saying is that it would have been nice to put a bit extra into the game such as the possibility to zoom into places on the map and mini-manage (similar thing to Ground control where you could use the FPS view or the overview)

<- regrets selling his Commodore Amiga 1200 now :<

Done to death? Name me more than one game that has done it properly? Name me one version that had internet multiplay? Seriously, you have a real negative vibe going these days. As for your other comments, they are a small dev team of half a dozen people that make award winning but simple games and they charge 1/4 of what anyone else charges, don't condem them because they kept the graphics simple, applaud them because they concentrated on what matters which is gameplay.

Not very good with names but here goes;
Imperium Galactica - VERY long game tho, its the whole thing (trading with other planets etc etc)
Balance of power - Amiga game you played alread
World at war - World map view send your forces to conquer places
Conquest of the Aegean - Bow and arrow style game, another conquer the world thing
There was another on the Amiga which i forget the name of, it was WW2 style and had a stupid number of floppy disks, Pacific combat?

I didnt realise it was a small dev team, i took it on face value as with other games in the same genre for a dozen people its pretty good work.

Err not one of those is based on the 'Wargames' senario of thermonuclear war. They are strategy games based on different senario and set at different times periods. None of them play even remotely like Defcon. This is not a conquering game in any way shape or form, it is a nuclear war similulator where the objective is to wipe out as much of the enemy while taking as few losses as you can. If you didn't realise that then you really need to go read the review and base your opinion on something concrete, there is nothing else around like this game on the PC right now. It delivers a pure and simple experience, think 'frag the planet' with bells and whistles on ;)
