Twas a lovely idea though, the picture and sound impressed me on ITV Digital, and also the monthly codes you could enter if you wanted to, i think thats why its gone down the shitter......no one paid the full whack for the channels.

Yea, well the serious loser in football. Surely you lot haven't failed to notice that ITV Digital don't want to pay their contract with the Nationwide league. If ITV Digital end up not paying it, it's estimated that half of all league clubs would go bankrupt :eek6:

Hence my yay. Everyone has been waiting for something to cause some trouble in football and this is the start which while causing trouble for lower clubs should also cause trouble for the top prem league since this is where the biggest chunk of money goes.

According to recent reports Beckenham wants £90,000 a week for kicking a little Leather ball around a pitch for one hour and a half.

Will it stir up football? I fear it could just kill off the small clubs while the larger ones wont bat an eyelid. if anything its an oppotunity to make a smaller top division and get even more money for themselves. It will kill (what's left of) the game, but the ones cause the irritation will get even richer.

Well, it *won't* effect the top clubs. The premiership exists as a seperate league because the top clubs didn't want to share the television money, however it will effect some first division clubs. There are several 1st divisioners who are virtually bankrupt as it is, Nottingham Forrest being a prime example...

As a forest fan, I am starting to panic a little.

Sky surely has to take the contract from ITV Digital, that would be nice. Having to pop around to a mate's house to watch the odd forest match on tele is not good. Would rather have it streaming in on my nice Sky dish.
