A colleague's mouse just died, so someone else tried their mouse on that machine instead and it didn't work. Once he tried to put his mouse back on his own machine that one was now dead too. It seems like the PS2 port is killing mice without prejudice :(

The PS2 port in question is on a Targus port replicator, I'm too scared to try any other mice on it now :) I took one of the mice apart to check for any signs of damage by power and couldn't see anything.

Just curious if anyone's come across something like this before.

Never come across anything like it before, but it certainly sounds feasible that a duff port replicator (or a duff power supply) could fry some of a mouse's circuitry.

I'd suggest getting a USB mouse to replace it :)
