Why shouldn't the company pay for it if its the measures they put in place that did the damage?

And its not just "10 big dollar" for a new drive! How much do you think those blue ray disc drives cost or are you living in some magical fantasy world where money grows on trees?

...this kind of stuff isnt "needed" to play the game, its added in its the fact it cannot be removed when you uninstall the software you paid for. Have fun if you ever decide you want to get rid of it.

If there's a case with legit copies f*cking up, sure, pay up, they don't mind. They got plenty anyway.

I would like to think it is that big a deal. this kind of stuff is illegal. Its classified as a virus and its installed under your nose. Companies have been taken to court and sued over bundling in this kind of software. Its actually against the law for them to include these DRMs but they continue to get away with it because they can afford the fees. Wheres the justice in getting around the law because you have enough money to pay for damages incurred?

Take of it what you will, as I've said before, the spice of life is that everyone sees these things differently, I still can't bring myself to want to have this installed on my machine though. The more I read up about it, the more I want to format, get rid of all the shit legit games have put on my system and try to avoid it in the future.
