Hi,

I am trying to buy an additional stick of 512 DDR ram, but I don't know where to buy it from, or what is compatible as the one I have does not indicate what speed it is.

The details on my current one are as follows;
SAMSUNG
KOREA 0246
PC2100U-25330-B1
M368L6423DTL-CBO
512MB DDR PC2100 CL 2.5

Any help would be fantastic.
Thanks

I would suggest this.

It's PC2100 so it's the same speed as your current memory, and I've never heard anything but good reports of Crucial in terms of price and service.

Just before you buy, can you please give us an idea of your current system spec?

Cheers,

Hello

Just a flying visit. eBuyer may stock the RAM you're after, if you wish to stick with Samsung. Whether it's identical, I don't know, but it's a 512Mb of DDR SDRAM, rated PC2100.

Kind Regards

Just further to my last comment, it would be a good idea to get a quick indication as to what motherboard it's being installed into etc.

Scanning the prices at Dabs.com today, the difference between PC2100 and PC3200 is pennies in some cases, and on most boards you'll be able to drop a 400Mhz DIMM in and run it at the lower speeds... If MACCA2004 has any intention to upgrade in the next 12 months, or if the board can handle quicker memories, then recommending PC2100 is going to end up costing significantly more a little way down the line.

edit://just looked at eBuyer Jonts, and that 2100 DIMM is about £3 cheaper than the PC3200 equivalent, old DDR is actually pretty pricey for what it is, because of the low volumes it sells in these days.
