I wouldn't go that far. The stories as you level up were quite good, you just level up way to fast. So for a quick dash in some instances once in a while it's ok, but not for much else.

Turns out it's 17.5gb plus patches if you do it through Steam. Guess SOE didn't update the download from the release code :(

The games gone Free to play now, you can download it through steam.

Free players get access to all current missions and areas, a couple of character slots and guild access. Extra mission packs will be available to buy, and as soon as you spend $5 your account gets upgraded to a Premium, which gives you more inventory space, and more wallet room in which to store more riches. You can also pay a $15 a month subscription fee to get access to all the new level packs, 15 character slots and 80 inventory slots.

I haven't had go at it myself, any of you guys tried it out?

I was playing it last night. It was good mindless fun to start with.

Then I had to go up against Bane (with the assistance of Killer Croc) and just kept getting my ass handed to me on a plate.

It's quite fun flying around the city and I think there's more appeal for me here because the story is actually set in the DC Universe rather than just a made up clone.

That said though I won't be parting with any cash, from what I've seen everything is $10 and they even try to sell you an account protector (one of those random key generators they use for online banking) which is lolfunny. Especially since given the number of times Sony have been hacked they should be giving them away for free.

That download seems a bit too much. May give it a download at some point.

eh? Just kick his ass fgs, how hard can that be? :)
Surprisingly difficult. Everything else I'd come up against was knife through butter stuff. Bane picked up a steel girder, minced killer croc with 2-3 swipes and killed me with 1.

Maybe I just got caught up in a higher difficulty instance or something stupid but it was very annoying.

The download is gash and it was uber annoying that the steam version then needed to be updated.

I've been able to stay connected for a maximum of 10 minutes at a time before being booted to the back of a queue. Fuck it.

Nah, just gotta pay attention for his big hits and stay the hell away from the rubble falling down when he starts beating the support pillars.

Completely unimpressed. After a 17GB download, this game can't even get past the launcher phase. Lots of dicking around with Adobe Flash, after which it looks like there is still some problem with the launcher but since it doesn't actually do anything other than pop up and disappear again there's nothing to work with in regards to solving it.

Searching online for known issues it seems this is quite common and may be related to the URL in the .ini file, but changing it to the original SOE settings doesn't work. I've probably wasted enough time on this badly coded shite so big thumbs down from me for a game that doesn't even make it off the starting blocks.

you'd have just been more disappointed if you got ingame tbh Roo, it has terrible terrible end game play.

Thats the reason for why i quit after release, and all the muppets you teamed up with to run instances. And the fucked up pvp, where premades where almost impossible to beat with a random.

It is a great game until end game then it shows that it actually doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of variety of things to do.
Unfortunately the superhero mmo all suffer the same kind of thing.
