I posted this in the console wars thread :D

It's apparently free on PS3 if you have PSN+.
I applied to the beta but no invite yet :(

Nice trailer, just wonderuing how "random hero x from custom creator" helps this storyline by killing 10 rats :p

That's a good trailer.

it is, to bad it tells us fuck all about how the game plays...

trailers like this almost always makes me doubt the game. because if the game were any good they wouldn't need to make shit like that and instead show actual ingame footage.

The trailer is fantastic, but I'm not impressed with the game...

You can easily tell is designed more for the PS3 crowd than a PC crowd, the controls are just... horrible.

I have no idea how much I can say due to NDAs, but put it this way, after about 4 hours of play, I won't be logging back in.

Yes, I know "4 hours isn't enough for a judgement on an MMO". Look, I still jump into Star Trek now and again, and trust me, DCUO will apeal to some, but not me. My stamp on the game says - Fucking Awful.

I would, but it's through Sony Station, and I have muchos games on the account, sorry dude.

Would they have run thier own servers in the vein of WoW or ST:O, no worries, you could of had it 'for keepies'.

Well, true to form i bought the game anyway.

And i have to say i'm somewhat surprised. The stories are pretty entertaining and the game runs very smoothly with close to non-existent loading times.

There are however a few minor issues, first is the powers you can chose from, there aren't that many and none of the offensive ones are pure magical. It's either bigass hammers, rifles, swords etc etc..

Character customization also leaves alot to be wished for, but is getting better the more missions you do as that unlocks more costume options.

Grouping can be an utter pain in the ass if the controller isnt doing his job, they are effectively only there as a "mana battery" and noone really wants to be that, so there are alot of wipes in pugs.

The combat can be pretty technical with alot of combos to get the really funky attacks.

The game is optimised for a console controller but you can play with a keyboard without to much annoyance.

Travel powers, there are only 3, acrobatics, flight and superspeed. Acrobatics and superspeed are by far the most annoying ones as you keep starting to climb the walls if you bump into a doorway and can be a bitch to get down again... >.<

Haven't tried pvp yet because i'm to occupied rolling alts but what i've understood so far if you play on a pve server you won't play your own character all that much, but "iconic" sidekicks like robin and Harley Quinn....

Anyway, its still a pretty funky little game that will keep me occupied until Rift release.

Well thats only the legendary pvp, you got the "normal" pvp instance aswell, getting about 50/50 % run in each when you sign up.

come on then ctu...what server and char name are u :)

Sorry mate but i can't check that any more.

Free "month" is up (despite still having a few days left) and i'm not paying a full month just to give it up when Rift release :)

It was a decent game to level up with but there is fuck all to do once you hit level 30 other then to raid or pvp.

Wouldn't call it shit. Just really really really pointless.

Sigh, i wish a new medieval MMO with 3 factions came out that took up on DAoC's RVR, alternatively had a meaninful invasion ruleset with conquerable forts and stuff....

I would marry that and have its bastard children....

And the pvp is shit. I quit also
Some classes just pwn everyone. And the inconsistent damage, kill one guy in 3 hits, next fight you hardly dmg him while he smacks you silly, next fight you 3 shot him again or if your "big one is up" just one shot him, if it hits, sometimes it just fires off in the wrong direction. And its the worst game if you meet premades in pvp. No other mmo ive played has premades been such a pain.

That is solely down to what role you are playing in.

A player in a tank role for example will have no problem at all cleaning the floor with a player that is in the controller role.

But on the other hand (and i say this from memory) a controller will utterly annihilate someone in the DPS role.

Personally i preferred the controller role as i didn't lose any DPS in it as tanks and healers do.

It's fun to play as a single player experience to the level cap ( like 30 hrs ), after that it was very treadmill grindy.

I found the leveling experience to be pretty good, but the character creation -while somewhat extensive- was a huge let down for me as there are very few "complete" appearance sets outside the ones that match the mentor you pick.

I got bored of it about 2-3 hours after I dinged max level, if an mmo can't keep me interested for more than 3 days I just /quit it. Did a fair few of the lvl 50 instances with friends then just thought to myself this is absolutely wank, the dungeons are crap I don't even want to hang around to see how mediocre the raids are.

Suits me. Wasn't good enough at launch to justify the sub but I'm still curious about it.
