heh, from what I've read in IRC
EA cash in, with very little longevity - once you've 'ooooooed' and 'ahhhhhhhed' at the Jetpack and the new vehicles its starts to become annoying (jetpacking on roofs etc).

I'd play - I think Cdr's suffering from 'expansion pack' snobbery - I reckon its good, mainly coz I'm growing allergic to Hinds and Apaches

yeah! what's wrong with rtr?
apart from the fact that the new vehicles are shit, most of the new maps look like they were made by a blindman and that it actually does nothing to improve bf in any way shape or form
ok.. what's right with rtr apart from the cool bayonets addition to the rifle (it's sooo cool sneaking up on someone and knifing them in the back of the head as you shoot them also

RtR is fine... it's just an expansion.. you dont *have* to play it i like it, makes a nice break from BF42 without being too unfamiliar... and it certainly beats DC...
cos DC is poo and way too unbalanced...

I like RtR too. I find with BF1942 that oncw I get used to the map im bored of it, so its nice to have maps Ive not played so much

Clan play Throdders, makes it a different game entirely. We have a bunch of new members who without fail seem to say, 'That was great!, soo much better than publics.'
It's the whole, strategy over mayhem thing. The tension of waiting for the attack that you know will come on the position you've been detailed to defend. The last 2 minutes of a game when you know that it's going to finish very close, and if you can just hold that flag grey for a few more seconds......
We even had a cup match end in a draw a couple of weeks ago, after 40 minutes and 600 odd tickets of play. We had to play another 10 minutes of extra time, (which we won
).You should try and give it a shot if you get a chance, it really is well worth it.
