Why do we even still use it?
times have changed and the arguments for it, dont really hold up these days

Is it's time past or ? what say thee ?

Complete bollocks. It doesn´t do anything good, just disturbs the "internal clock" of all living beings.
Small example: my cat is diabetic and needs an injection of insulin twice a day in more or less exactly 12 hour intrervals. If she doesn´t get her shot, she doesn´t eat. Now.. I usually get up at 6:30 AM and give her the shot right before I leave to work at 7.
Now she´s due one hour too early and promptly didn´t eat today, despite getting her shot.

It´s not a biggie of course, it will eventually straighten out in a couple of days. But all that for what? Nothing.

personally i like the fact that I get another hour of daylight every day. If it wasn't for all the Scottish kiddies having to go to school in the dark I would vote for BST being all year round. In fact fuck it, go to GMT + 1 and let the Scots have their own damn timezone, they have everything else.

Because we're slaves to things starting at the same time throughout the year (work, school, etc) with timezone changes being the only way of taking advantage of the extra sunlight during the day.

I'd personally go for UTC (GMT) all year round and adjust the times we start work accordingly throughout the year, with as many countries as possible using it. Just start at an earlier time during the summer months instead of waiting for daylight saving time to do the job for you!

But how does that work with things like bus/train timetable or with public services? It would really annoy me if the time my bus turned up changed during the year.

One more hour of daylight means that we use less electricity on lights etc. which means we use less CO2.. You might think "Meh, so what? It's just a light bulb?", but since it's everyone on earth who saves this one light bulb, it will mean we are saving tonnes of CO2 outlet worldwide..

So not completly irrelevant

well,
Although an early goal of DST was to reduce evening usage of incandescent lighting, formerly a primary use of electricity,[7] modern heating and cooling usage patterns differ greatly, and research about how DST currently affects energy use is limited and often contradictory.[8]

I'll be sure to leave my light bulb on for an extra hour each day, just to f*ck up your "conscious ways" :D

I don't think daylights savings harms anyone, it's not really needed either though. Especially up here in snowland, 'cause the summer is a massive clusterf*ck on the brain anyway, what with no darkness at ALL.

I say put all clocks to GMT and work during whichever god forsaken hour your turn is up. Unify this globe or blow it the f*ckity up-up.
