Not old enough to remember Poll tax farce that the Commys er convservatives brought in? ... oh and who was the major person backing that? The opposition leader today.

Only thing I fear more than Labour winning again ... is Conservatives getting in again.

You have to either pick Lib's or pick the lesser of two evils imo. I have bad memorys of the Conservatives they did alot of bad to this country and most of the shit stuff Labor is being blamed for is the result of bad planning and policys from the conservative peons.

I'm not Politically minded and really I've not voted in the last 4 general elections because there really hasn't been a party that has stood for what I think should be done to this country.

What is making you vote for a party? Plenty of other candidates to vote for in each constituency.

Oh, and tbh I'm voting conservative next time round (although I did the last time anyway), because I want a government that runs the country, and not the people.

Hmnn, JBP| actually wants to see people starving to death on the street. I'm sure people won't commit crime to feed their starving families, oh no. They'll just lay down and die like good citizens.

Wouldn't it be a better idea if they went out to work instead and made a contribution to society?

Also how on earth did we ever manage to buy food before motorways were built? :p

Local market/Allotment/Back garden

Of course nobody has time to do these things, or so they think.

tbh as i said before, they are all the same, the labour government just seems to be a bit more feeling than the tories for the young/old/unemployed/sick people in the UK, i mean we actually build hospitals now.

Uh-huh. I'm sure some people here remembed my outburst when Mr. Blunkett was espousing how the depressed should 'just get out to work' to make them feel better. Mucho concern for the sick there, oh yes.

Good riddance to the fascist, out of touch, blind (in more than just eyesight) bugger.

Hmm, so will he make another comeback or not? Last time around we got the usual bullshit of "wait 6 months, everyone will forget, give him another job" crap Tony's chums typically receive, this time Blair isnt likely to be in charge long enough.

Sadly I doubt we've seen the last of him

And of course no-one ever gets so sick they can't ever work again and would be out on the street and dying of hypothermia without government help? Oh no.

To put it bluntly. Cock off you Blunkett-loving bastard.

What? What are you ill with then ?
I have been unable to work at all since Oct 2000 officially, and on and off since Oct 1998 due to general social anxiety and associated depression. Actually it goes back further than that, my brain is just plain broken when it comes to any and all social interaction. It's a miracle/luck that I ever managed to survive at Uni as much as I did, let alone ever get and hold down a job for the 18 months I did before the shit finally hit the fan.

The most I can ever expect is going to the doctor every few months when I can finally convince myself to, getting put on a 6+ months waiting list for any appointment at all for yet another initial assessment, followed by repeat appointments every 3-4 months, which if I'm lucky might in the end lead to some Cognitive Based Therapy, which is all anyone seems to think will do any good at all. This is all assuming that on the day of each appointment I actually happen to be in a mind-state that allows me to leave my home, let alone get on a bus and to the appointment.

And don't even mention the word medication. I've been on damned near every anti-depressant there is, including those supposed to have a good effect against anxiety too and it's never done any good. That includes taking the maximum possible dose of the modified release form of Venlafaxine for a SOLID 6 months.

I was damned near out on the street in July 2001. It was only a couple of good friends that saved me from that. Without the subsequent support of the welfare state (which took me 4 months to get around to sorting out because of the effects of my actual problem) I WOULD have been out on the street since and most likely dead.

Yes, I have a fairly nice computer and internet access, but this is exactly because of my problem and the fact I never go out, spend money on 'beer' etc. Various parts of the internet are also the only way in which I socialise at all. Even then I go AWOL for months on end from some communities (I was gone for 11 months from BW/FH at one point) because I can't cope with the interaction.

You did ask.
