This file has been all kinds of sizes in my Guild, ranging from 10-100gb. Deleting it and running the patcher patches it to a 41mb file and runs the game just as well as it did with the gig ones infact some have said it makes loading mobs quicker. Why isn't the patcher doing this itself? Are these files really necessary? Should I have a 100gb Data.myp?

mines standing at just under 50gb at the mo, but if what you say is true i might just delete it to claim some space back if it just patches it to 41mb

Hey thanks for the heads up, mine had grown to 215GB without me noticing.
Not even my Conan install was that big :twak:
Have to do full file scan for patcher to replace it, not like with some files which if not present the game will apply default.

The larger it is the bigger chance for CTD's you get it seems from my experience with it.

Mythic has solved the issue that some players have experienced where their data.myp file grew to an excessive size causing stability problems.

At 16:00 CET this afternoon we will roll out the fix to our patcher.

There will be no server downtime as a result of this but you will need to download this update before you can log in to the game. If you are already in game then we recommend that you log out and log back in as soon as it is convenient for you in order to benefit from this patch.

probably because it detects 2 data.myp's. I would delete both data.myps then do the full file check.

umm.. nice from him, but shouldnt they post this somewhere offical? How many ppl have this bug? My HD was getting full and althou i was certain it was WAR that did this, i had no idea how. Mine is 51 gig..

Thanks a lot for posting.

They have, it has been in the news sections of both the US and the EU website before they found a fix, explaining what to do to temporary fix it for yourself till they sorted it, and again on both sites news in patch notes explaining that it is now fixed. The last hotfix sorted the problem and it shouldn't happen anymore.

don`t forget to do a `full file check`, otherwise it might not realize that the file is missing and that might cause the crash.
