love this game but christ its hard on a 56k conn,do any of you guys have any good 56k configs also if you have where do i put them?. i connect at about 40k

Dont forget frame rate is very important in q3, so Id imagine its the same in this (to a lesser extent of course).
The "magic " frame rates are 125 and 76 I st mine to 76.
Also check the bit "why frame rate affects jumping" it explains it well on there

For frame rate improvement I found /seta cg_drawcrosshairnames 0 was great, and also improved the look of the game vastly too.
Mind im being a bit of a tit atm, Im playing with out a crosshair either

You can type anything into console, or if you like go into Call of Duty , the folder is "main" and the config is called mpconfig, as opposed to config. There are separate ones for for sp and mp. Open it with word pad btw, much easier than notepad. Add or change commands in there.
Its actually easy in wordpad as it opens in alphabetical order so you can scroll down and see the cvar easily
