Darkness falls....the end of Honour?

Well Darkness fall is well upon us now, and although its cool to have a new area to play in the lameness in DAoC seems to of increased, it seems to have made ppl morals got out of the window totally like they r back in the lowbie dungron like mithra (exchange mithra for equal mid/hib dungeon), the arguing over drops is rediculous, and im sure its the same for hibs and mids...
Lvls 50's arguing over drops is making it not fun at all...

Second point is rvr, ok this is and rvr dungeon, but tbh i dont see the point of 50 high lvl (insert realm here) zerging the merchants and killing a few helpless lvl 20's who r just after a few seals and xp, especially when they r in middle of a fight with a mob! If i got lower into the dungeon i expect to die by mob or from mid/hib, but there no honour or glorious victory in killing a few low lvls...

We have had DF quite a while now isnt it about time all realms started acting with a bit more decency, we can still have fun, with ruining the little ppls fun surely?

Please undertsand this is no dig at a realm just at some ppl atitude towards DF....

You are aware of the rules for DF?
And have read the section specifically on Darkness Falls in the patch notes?

I know some people would like fairness etc, but to be honest, there is not enough time to sit and think whether you should gank those greys or not... a few greys can get a purple... do you want to take that risk?

Or the risk that more enemies might be coming round the corner?

Speed of actions is one of the largest factors in an encounter, you cannot waste time pondering.

Errr thats not it at all, if u dont go near the grey u dotn havto kill them now do u!

ppl go upto merchants because they think killing a few low lvl 20s id FUN, adn frankly i dont see the point, if u dont go UP to the merchants where all u find is afk ppl and greys and actually kill the lvl 40s and 50 lwoer down who are a challenge! thats cool...

As for patch notes? dont elcture me theres loads of things in daoc that r exploited that r not designed to be sued in the way they r, DAoC is used by ppl with free wills they dont HAVTO follow patch notes, and as for several greys being dangerous? doubt it imo

Your logic is flawed, m8... It isn't just lvl 20 people who's at the merchants, what about the highlevels who's arranging groups there, or the highlevels purchasing something for the seals they've gotten?

I don't see anything wrong with zerging the merchants at all, I just take it as a part of the game (which it also is) - and don't bother going to DF with my lowbie (althou that has alot more to do with idiots training mobs through the dungeon, getting me killed all the time).

Otherwise, you're correct - if the time spent whining was spent constructively on another raid, there'd already be a second set of drops :/

I know what u mean :)

Kill greys are evil, imo - only in rare cases, if they run to get lvl 50 ppl, or starts hitting u .. i c np in killing them.

I was in uppland last night, and saw lots mids xping, and i never kill greys xping.

It's lots of fun to unstealth, and blow them kisses.. just watch out they don't zerg u :) (if u are not good in melee, as i).

Don't kill ppl in DF, if they are just xping at merchants :).. plz.

I kinda like the steady stream of Mids?hibs toward our entrance
means I get my RP handed to me on a platter, instead of having to go look for them ;)
I gladly take the AoE mez while mid pull as the bad side of that.

I do agree with the "Mithras" aditude there at times tho,
suddenly there's a lot of greedy ppl out there hungering for seals, making trains and killstealing quite common. but I guess that'll settle down once everybody has more seals then they can carry.

Yeah it is anoying when all ur doing is farming seals and making a little spondoolicks, when all of a sudden..

Killgorde attacks you and hits your head for 230 damage + 6 more hits and x_x

well was i a threat? no.. but i think it's the risk u take in DF even if the merchant/lowbie exp grounds of DF are prime killing spots.

Usually we get the msg when a FG or lvl 50's comes and cleans the lowbie area out.. How proud u must feel heh!?

Anyways it won't stop me going to DF anyways.. i got Alts to kit out yet

He never said there was or should be any rule against it, he's just expressing a wish that people wouldn't want to gank greys so much.

Personally I disagree, it's fun. Mwah.

i would agree to you falcor when all u can expect to meet visiting enemy merchants like we yesterday did are greys...but thats not the way it is..of course u meet ALSO greens, blues and with a bit spite of luck enough yellows to grow a quick death.

I as referring to this bit

CUSTOMER SERVICE REMINDER

A reminder from Customer Support about the possibility of XP loss in RvR combat: The new Darkness Falls dungeon is a place to hunt monsters where there is a significant chance that you will encounter enemy players. Remember that when you are injured by a monster and have not healed to 100% health before getting killed by an enemy in RvR, you will take XP loss just as if you were killed by the monster. This is not a bug, and Customer Support cannot help with any XP lost in this manner. Be careful out there and have fun!

To knock out one problem...

But, yes, since EVERYONE from a realm enters through one entrance, it is similar to camping Ligen gates etc.

What I am saying is:

You are aware of the risks, and you KNOW that people will always do it, come and gank people at merchants...

It's your choice if you want to go there or not to be honest.

I'm glad people are starting to see that the morale of sparing grays is noble and nice, but that the morale of killing everything you see is equally justifiable.

Hiya

I logged onto DF yesterday with my little Hero , there were about 6 or 7 of us in the lowbie portal area , I was around the highest , no other people present , when a group of high lvl mids topped the ramp , and just stood there , naturally I waved thinking "if they are just standing there , they are not gonna kill a handful of greys" and will probably leave . Nope we got ganked :)) not even sure if anyone actually got a single hit in . So much for that thought , eh :) . My hat goes off to them , it was only one group and managed to get to our portal , pity DF was empty , they may have had a challenge , but it was about the first time I've ever seen it so empty . And they really really just had to vent their spleen on some ickle wickle players :) .

Darkness Falls is the frontier :) same rules apply...

It's scary in there... and I hate xp dying but hell it's fun to skirmish with the enemy :)

If you want safe xp at lvl 20 go to keltoi...

I dont kill xping greys/greens in frontier either, its pointless (unless they can blow the whistle on a keeep raid then u gotta kill em) its not like u get good rps off it, DF is rvr orientated and im glad it is! it makes it good fun, but causing low lvls to die, especially when u cause an xp death, is nasty imo...u cant stop some ppl being nasty and laughing at corpses of lvl 20s i guess, just maybe its time the high lvl ppl all grew up a bit? and also stopped argueing over 94% qua drops =/

It's very hard _not_ to cause an XP death in DF.... :)

Just about every fight will get interrupted by monster spawns except between the very high levels.

1. If its not from ur realm - kill it
2. If u dont know what it is and its in rvr territory - kill it
3. If u see a hib in DF - kill it
4. If u see a mid in DF - kill it
5. If u go to DF - expect to be killed
6. If u go to xp in the frontiers - duh kinda dumb ^^
7. If its grey - kill it, that grey will one day be a yellow/purp and kill u. Also, maybe he/she has a high lvl alt who has killed u before.
8. If its a troll kill it - they so damn ugly
9. If u get xp death then accept it - if u dont want these kinds of deaths then avoid RvR areas i.e. DF Emain Odins etc
10. If its a luri wait a bit and admire its cuteness.. then kill it

think thats enough :D

Some ppl have no grauitude, hhmprf......

The other day, i was chilling watching a full party xping getting diamonds seals, when an red elf must of log in and was about to mass nuke mezz the party, when i charged the elf solo with my melee weapon.
Usually this would be very foolish as my melee is pathetic to say the least. But i though Sod it, he only red what the heck charge. I end up interupting him and shouted a warning to the party.

One dead elf later and still no thanks.

Next time, i just w8 in the corner and w8 till he nukes the party and then go for a solo kill when all his mana uses up.....

Ps remember Cowled?

One man's grey is another man's purple...

A suggestion:

When you see your high-levels getting ripped somewhere between the realm portals via death messages (as you will always get very advanced warning of impending doom) do yourselves a favour and either log out and play an alt for a while or stand near your exit portal. (I would at this juncture implore the hi-levels not to do this for obvious reasons ;))

As many yellow/blue cons are picked off near the merchants as deeper in, by virtue of the status changes to accessing the place meaning a lot are in transit. And greys that give each FG member +50 rp are hardly innocent...you live by your sword and you die by an even bigger one.

Exp deaths are something that Mythic could, if they so wished, reduce or irradicate by having a default PvP death for anyone that is struck by mob and and enemy before, say, reaching max hp again. It is their call that they choose not to, although I for one would back a change of this nature.

As someone who was ganked a few times while exping as a grey without complaint I really don't know where this thread is coming from. If it's too hot in the kitchen...

I've been XP killed in DF and whilst its annoying, when people are specifically targetted for XP kills what can ya do.

I'll take it on the chin because the RP's I've had for Hibbies have far outweighed the XP I have lost, and Hibbies keep falling into the same trap and dying, its rather like lemmings tis quite funny.

Its war, you take the risks, sometimes you win sometimes you lose.

I find it more annoying that there is constantly a whole horde waiting outside DF in ALB expecting people to go and take alb keeps back, but showing no fecking interest in doing it themselves.

I have been on 5-6 retakes and I still dont recall seeing any of the people I saw outside Maynes.
