Yeah, radiation seems pretty good at doing most things... shame it doesn't really do much in real life except make you bald and sterile... oh, and kill you.

Apart from the fact it burns and gives you cancer. Most of these heroes wouldnt live very long.

I kind of lumped cancer in with "killing you".

I'd like Daredevil if he shouted "BLEEP!" all the time while spinning his head, then hearing where the sound bounced. In my opinion that would make him a lot cooler.

And lasers. Maybe if he had some lasers.

Sound needs a medium in which to pass through and therefore cannot travel in a vacuum - or space, as much as Lucas wants us to believe it does.

My Vacuum makes a noise. How do you explain that?

Your Daredevil sounds a lot better Dams :). May I suggest really big ears too?

So how do you manage to hear anything then?

Totally shit film. The original concept of Daredevil is fairly crap, so it's hardly a good start. But they butchered all the remaining characters anyway. Kingpin, who is basically a massive nazi, became black? Bullseye turned into some crap Irish biker. And Elektra... jesus christ. Was there any point even being in the film? Ironically I read an article in Empire before I saw the film about how Affleck and the director are such big Daredevil fans, and this is their dream project (the usual shit) - they didn't think much about totally throwing away the character concepts, considering they're such big fans. Because let's face it, superheroes are *all about* the characters.

My hopes are pinned on X2 and The Hulk.

X2 looks good, I would like it if the scope of the film was a lot larger though

Nightcrawler and Gambit (albeit briefly) are in it, which is enough for me.

Although Iceman looks like a total pussy.

I saw it last night, I thought it was great.. much better than spider man.. DD could kick his arse.

Good film but NO character development.

Here are some people. They're all very nice. Oh, daredevil found a girl, shagged her, she died :( He gets revenge!

No backgound on kingpin, the characters had a very empty feel. Not good seeing as daredevil's character is based around being an avenger.

Exactly... zero character depth. So um how does that make it a good film?

Let me expand it then - Good action film. The fight sequences were reasonably well done - I just went in expceting a bit more though. And Evanescence... OMG what a song! :D

Since Ang Lee is doing the hulk, it could be good. He strikes me as being above all this superhero nonsense though.

I think the Hulk will be a great film too.
Special effects will be good with quite a bit of action I think

I'm in two minds about Hulk.

On one hand, Ang Lee - superb director, and as nath says a bit "above" this superhero nonsense, which should work in its favour - ie there might be some plot and character development in there, rather than just "well we'll stick some guys in spandex in, that should make them happy". Ang Lee is one of those few directors left who knows how to tell a story.

On the other hand, The Hulk itself is CGI. And whilst there have undoubtably been amazing advances in CGI in the past few years, they haven't yet really managed to create a convincing CGI character. cf: Jar Jar :/ I guess Gollum is as close as we've gotten, but the whole point of the Hulk is inner conflict, knowing and fighting your demons, the id vs the super-ego - and I'm not convinced that they can pull off true *emotion* in a CGI character yet.

I know fuck all about the hulk, but wasn't he a mindless nutcase when he was green, and all boohoo about it when he was the bloke?

i.e. if he's a cg hulk, can't they make him just nutty, and get the actor to do the rest?

edit: besides, it'd be totally naff if it was some body builder in green body paint :|

iirc

speed of sound - 346m/s at 25C
speed of light - 299792458m/s

so compared to batman who can see, he's a slowbie... if batman was quaking on a gigabit pipe, daredevil would be trundling along on 2400 baud ;)

I watched this film the other day and found it be mediocre.

The CGI was some of the crapiest Ive seen.

I also couldnt believe DD can jump around like he does. He's just a normal man with funny hearing. He's not like Spiderman which got loads of extra strength etc.

Also the villain who's a normal man could also move in the same way.

edit: Sound can travel through space in the form of radio waves.

In all honesty this film was weak.

I'm unsure though as to where you are going with that comment Dys.

From my (probably wrong) grasp of physics:

Radio waves == Electromagnetic Radiation == (kinda) Light with larger wavelength (I think :s).

That's besides the point though.

seeing is faster the hearing,
light travels faster than sound.

The comic and film were weak concepts with little or no character development.

This resulted in 2 hours of boredom and 3.50 down the swanny.

My comment was in response to someone saying sound cant travel in space. But it can if its in the form of a radio wave

It can't, i.e it needs a medium in which to propegate.

There is no such medium, hence sound cannot travel in space.
