i recently bought a new computer and just now decided to come back for classic, but theres a catch, i get extremely high fps, keyboard is unresponsive, and i go LD all the time

if i run fraps and record (it limits the fps to the framerate it captures at) i can play, otherwise its almost impossible to play and i keep going ld

But running fraps and recording clearly isnt a long term solution

so anyone else having this prob?

Which OS are you using. I ask as xp home has problems with dual core processors.
Also are you playing full screen or windowed

Try if you can force V-Sync on your 3d card drivers. Will 'lock' your fps max at the refreshrate.

and the xp home with amd x2 may be your problem too.. update ur OS :p

Try setting the cpu affinity to 1 core only (open task manager, right click game.dll, pick "set affinity" and change it so only 1 cpu is checked). I had loads of problems with DAoC when I upgraded to a x2 4400+ (ld's, gfx tearing, lag etc) and this solved them all (can also dual log np at all as i set each session to a different core :) ).

You will need xp pro tho as i believe home doesn't allow you to do this

a simple reboot fixed my problems at start, but the affinity fixed the rest of the ld's, thank god
